Haven't got any smaller gigs lined up as yet, which is unusual for me, as I prefer them generally. May take in the Zombies gig next month, and maybe Leslie West and Roger Chapman too.

Where are the zombies playing?

This is the time and this is the time and it is time, time, time, time, time, time, time.....

I'm reposting this from another site I often post in..........I went to this show last Friday night.I am from the south and consider myself an all around music lover. From psychedelic to blues to southern rock to zydeco to folk/country rock to 60/70s soul and classic rock. And the show I saw last Friday gave me 4-5 of them(check out the set list)..........ok then............here we go. Would'nt you know as soon as I sat down to start writing on Saturday morning,I HAD NO FREAKIN connection! I really wanted to get this thing up quick to share with everybody but you know how the ISP's can be! They work great until there is somthing you really want to get out then no go!Anyway, the place opened at 7:30 and the opening band was at 8:30.I came earlier that day to get tickets about 3:00'ish when they said the ticketmaster guy was going to show up.He did not show till 4:30!I got all squared away with tickets in hand by 4:45 While I was waiting I talked the guy next door at the chopper shop to part with his David Allan Coe Promo poster(hand bill)he only had two!I did not see even one poster of anykind at the show! But I did buy all kinds of other goodies I will show ya in a while! The place was real small. It only held 400 people and at 430 there were were only 20 seats left. Very underpromoted with very little if any advertisement.Which was good for us we thought!less crowd!Wrong!Very small with lots of booths and lots of waitreses and tons of security SO,NO cameras or videos's!!That really sucked! Not to worry though we had great seats at 30.00 bucks each and there were like maybe another 40 seats way up top in the balcony for 15.00 each.It sold out!Being such a small venue made it a great show!My only disapointment was like some Hank Jr or Skynyrd shows I've been to from the past, where they tend to try to squeeze a lot of their songs into a sort of medley and you never really get to hear whole songs at times. Some were longer than others,But,Some were just too short man!I have also enclosed the set list, which if you were to look at,you would probably think the show was like 2 1/2 hours long ,when in fact the show was only about 70 minutes.David and Kim hauled ass quick as soon as the show ended. While David's son Tyler and the rest of the band did the load out and hung out for a short while,They were very cool and autogrphed my poster. One other thing strange for this evening was the presence of no Bass Player !! I dont know who the current Bass player is or if they have fired or looking..???I just dont know.I can tell you there was not on this night! The whole rest of the band minus David and Kim signed the poster which I'm gonna show you later in the post.Lead guitarist Jon E. Finn, drummer James Michael and Rythem/lead Guitarist Tyler Coe. Funny cause when I first got there and was walkin around the place seeing what good seats were left I was talking to some guy about it who later turned out to be the Lead Guitarist Jon E.Finn.After the show he said,"so did ya get the seats you wanted"I said Yep!You can see all the autographs on the hand bill.(like a poster but a bit smaller)Security was staring like cops and I did not see one camera or video camera.I do know one thing about DAC,And that is he is very protective when it comes to people ripping off his *hit and will kick some ass when he feels exploited or ripped off...just read a little from his official site,They dontlet you copy any pics and give stern warnings about stealing his pics!Ive been a long time fan from the days when I used to run into him in Big Pine Key and viscinity. To seeing him at concerts from West Palm and Okechobee area all the way down to Miami and Key West!Cause of tight security NO pictures .But I did get some great stuff I bought any way.So without any further BS,besides a small set up...Here it goes,My wife had a great time too!I uploaded all this stuff to show ya!!
1) CD
2) CD
3) Set List-(like a nerd with pad and pencil)
4) DVD-At Billy Bobs + Long interview

See ya there, john!!

Just got my ticket today - forgot to phone on Thursday and couldn't get an answer at the Fleece all weekend, only to find they weren't selling tickets!! (Was away from home following some of the Country Joe tour and couldn't check the pc for alternative numbers.) Bought the penultimate ticket -talk about cutting it fine!!!

Am also going to see Janis Ian two days before that - hope she does Society's Child.

Don't know yet, but hopefully...

quote:
Billboard Magazine, April 17, 2006
"...The Stooges will also embark on their first full-blown reunion tour, having previously focused on the festival circuit and one-offs since reassembling in 2003. At deadline, the lone date confirmed is an appearance in December at the U.K.'s Nightmare Before Christmas festival, which will be curated by Sonic Youth's Thurston Moore."
One can only hope...

jellybean...

I was at a Zombies/Love gig in NYC in Oct '04. Of course I was really there to see LOVE, and didn't pay too much attention to The Zombies. I heard the first 3 songs of The Zombies set and then I went out in the lobby where I was with Arthur, Johnny, Mike Randle, Chapple, and the merchandise guy (I forgot his name). From what I did hear, Colin Blunstone sounded great, and Rod Argent's playing was spot on.
