Such fun!! Here is the famous 10+ minute Revolution #1 (Take 20) that is circulating
the net. It offers a cool insight into the segue between Revolution #1 & #9.
Read the info write up too!

whoops! here it is...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bQDDfW2pMhk

"..number nine, number nine?"

Just listened to that avant-garde White Album
track, in its entirety, yesterday --for the first time in about 20 years. Pretty cool background
music for work!

Guess I'm getting psyched as Sept 9th nears! Beatles LPs are flying off my shelves onto my TT.
I have every vinyl LP release thru Hey Jude.

Your next LAST chance!

Just got an email from Amazon that the USA cap of 10,000 mono (sold out!) Boxes will be increased-- with more manufactured, and made available to us at Amazon. It will still be a "limited edition" box. Doesn't say how many more will be made available. My dealer friend CANNOT get any MONO boxes thru his distributors for retail.

So, another BIG carrot dangling out there for you all!!! Tempting you again.

CHEERS!

An interesting note--The mono box's Help & Rubber Soul CDs will contain the mono AND stereo versions of the LPs. Cool.

You have to sign up for it at Amazon...no pre-pay anymore. Some sites are selling the mono box for $500...now they are sold out too-- and some retailers are taking pre-orders at $400! Law of supply and demand! Greedy bastards!

Stereo Box is sold out too! Of course that supply will keep being replenished...

So, technically, the stereo and limited ed Mono boxes will have the same NUMBER of LPs included in each! Cool!

Just found this review in the New York Times.....it is the most detailed I've seen so far. The mono set is still available here - and I'm still holding an option on it - though I'll need to decide very soon! There will also be a Japanese import edition of the mono out six days later on 15 September...at a truly crazy price.

Thanks for the great article. It straightens out some misinformation I had and gave about what each box contained. It also reaffirms my getting the MONO Box. Each to his own. I'll likely get the Abbey Road & Let It Be stereos to complete the set!

Good to see that the Yellow Submarine mono tracks will be included in the mono box!

Cheers!

Still agonising (as I am) over whether you should buy just the mono or stereo box set....or both.....or neither? With less than 48 hours to go, musicradar have just written the most detailed album by album comparison. And guess what......they do not have a definitive answer...they see considerable merits and some disadvantages in both. With the first two albums they claim that there really is no contest...mono wins every time..except on Money where the stereo apparently is a complete revelation. With A Hard Days Night the move away from two to four track presents a much more complex picture. The reviewers are positively rhaphsodic about the stereo editions of Help and Rubber Soul......but also point to what they say are very mixed results on Revolver. They will be reviewing from Sgt Pepper onwards tomorrow. Anyway here it all is........thank heavens that I shall be returning to some teaching next week and ... will be free from all things ephemeral:
