I've not listened to that in god knows how long! But then I hardly listen to any of my vinyl collection these days.

Likewise, Old Man.. my vinyl stays in it's boxes most of the time .. but, although most are in good nick, and quite a few apparently go for 'silly money' on ebay etc, I'd never sell - my like in music, I guess, a 'travelogue', as per Joni. Of those that do get played, I'd reckon the most frequent turntsble visitors are Robert Wyatt's 'Rock Bottom', Kevin Ayers' 'Whatevershebringswesing' and Caravan's 'In The Land of Grey and Pink', all of which have stood times test very well. Some of my favourites get played very infrequently so it's always a treat, eg the second side of 'Steve Miller's 'Recsll The Beginning..A Journey From Eden' - an absolute WASTERPIECE. Current CD fave: still Duckworth-Lewis Method.

Mike, I believe you just coined a new word: "wasterpiece"!: the opposite of masterpiece.

...what the world needs now...

We've had this discussion before but I still really don't get why people don't play their vinyl? I not only play vinyl regularly but still buy a lot of stuff on vinyl, many current bands issue their stuff on vinyl plus you've got the likes of Sundazed doing their great 180gm reissues. I understand that sales of 7" vinyl singles are higher now than they've been in years as young record collectors are really getting into them. This is all very positive as the vinyl will last far longer than any CD and, of course, looks and sounds so much nicer

Quite a brilliant album....songwriter, singer, multi-instrumentalist, arranger.....passed away at his island home in Maine...time for "The Reach"..that get so much airplay in Maine.

It's Maine and it's Autumn....

His first LP is quite good too...Wisteria is a great track.

Listening to my VJ vinyl copy of Introducing The Beatles (ya, it's real and authenticated!) and it IS one of the best sounding mono recordings that I own. And a brilliant debut! VJ saw something that Capitol didn't...."they'll never sell in America!"

I don't think anyones heard of them over here though
Scot

The Beatles remain a cult band over here in the States. I went to Best
Buy when the mono box came out, and they had to PAY ME to take
it off their hands, thats how bad it was

Rather like Rhino Records attaching a nickel to each copy of Donny
Bonaduces record to have them taken out of store!
