To A Friend - Tandy

I think Mike Ferrio is the most underrated song writer I've ever known. He deserves more recognition. Such a modest guy too.

Joe, thanx for that most hilariously entertaining review!

" It’s hard to understand why the rock press wasn’t covering the Beatles during this stretch of their career; one can only assume that the band members’ lack of charisma and uneasy rapport made them unappealing to the mainstream media. "

The Hellecasters', "Return Of The Hellecasters", audio cassette.
3 guys playing tellys and strats. John Jorgenson(Desert Rose Band),
Jerry Donahue(Fairport Convention), instrumental psych-country-hotrod heaven!!! some of the best guitar music ever made!

"Eli and the 13th Confession" My favorite jacket art...simply-- beautiful Laura.

Brilliant LP. "The Poverty Train" takes me to places I didn't know I could go.....

I found an audio cassette home-taped from LP, at a thrift store, of The Seekers. Much underrated great folk-pop magic sung by the beautiful voiced, Judith Durham. Also, member guitarist/singer, Bruce Woodley, had co-written "Red Rubber Ball" for The Cyrkle.
The other side is Phil Ochs Live. not bad for 50 cents!

Morrissey - Swords

A new compilation of B-sides (all great songs) with a lovely bonus disc of eight live tracks.

Sadly due to Morrissey being ill I didn't get to see him in Bournemouth on Monday but hopefully it'll be re-arranged. Still one of the greatest songwriters of all time

'Tres Tres Fort' - Staff Benda Bilili
Happy, uplifting, inspiring and most definitely NOT formulaic music from paraplegic (through polio) street musicians from Kinshasa, Congo. Sometimes following Amazon links can lead to very very good things. Justifiably 5* rated. Check the samples. I think I read they're touring UK very soon - reckon I want to see.. they'd certainly liven up 'Later'..
