Yeah, well.....it's all about cars really, and driving. A couple of politicaly topical tracks too, Cough Up The Bucks and Fork In The Road. There are some great riffs on this album and it really grooves along, in a kind of laid back way, which is what I like about it most. The liveliest track is Johnny Magic (released as a single), you just want it to keep on and on and not stop! A return to form for Neil in my humble opinion. |

Beeb listening the Big O, and I don't mean Oscar Robertson. I do mean Roy Orbison and for the longest time I assumed he was blind, until I watched some of his performances and confirmed he was not. And just for laughs a little Spike Jones, a man ahead of his time. |

New Manic Street Preachers album is amazing, as expected the lyrics (by the great Richey Edwards) are incredible, but what is most pleasently suprising is the Manics are back on form musically too. It's as if Richey has inspired them to actually write something worthwhile to fit with the lyrics. New British Sea Power release Man of Aran (a sountrack to the 1930s film) is also great. |

Rising For The Moon....mmmmm, Sandy & Fairport.......soooo good! Damn that late 70's new-wave/punk rise for making their attempt at a big comeback a failure...commercially

now it's "Leonard Cohen Songs Of Love And Hate" CD, 1971 and just before that was, Judy Collins' , "Who Knows Where The Time Goes" CD. 1968. a great album! with Stephen Stills, Chris Ethridge, Jim Gordon, and pedal steel man Buddy Emmons! "Someday Soon" is cool! talk about the dark and light! sychronicity: both albums have keyboardist, Michael Saul.
......"IS IT ROLLING, BOB!?" ...what the world needs now... |
