The Monkees - Headquarters
(and) 'More of The Monkees'... i kid you not! haha--where it all started for me. (...at age 3 that is, perhaps I ought to qualify that.)

listening to the very best of the smiths again and wondering why I was always listening so carefully to the lilting lyrics that I missed the brilliance of the music complementing the vocals. There are clear references to almost all the music I've ever loved, and more - byrds, through airplane, even an adam anty one.

must get a karaoke version...

Keep on shining

My grandson turned me on to slacker.com internet radio. It's much better than Pandora in that you choose all your bands. Unfortunately, it's only available now in the US.

I've been listening to samples of Eric Burton's Soul of a Man. It sounds good. I haven't yet got the album. Waiting to find a lower price.

Kevin Ayers' new album, The Unfairground. Only listened once so far, I liked it. Mellow, with strings and horns, but very short, only 35 minutes long.
