"Day Into Night" by Nelson Bragg from Brian Wilson's band. Very pleasing and melodic album with strong Byrds and Brian influences. Also includes a nice version of George Harrison's "Dark Sweet Lady". Love, John E |

Jellybean, please can you tell me a bit more about the Elektra Years boxed set that's just made your Xmas - eg full title, label no.? About twenty years ago I was after a Elektra Years set that came out on vinyl. If I recall correctly, it was a four album set, including, apart from the Doors, a whole side of QMS and one of Buckley, and had great reviews. I never managed to track it down. Is it out now on CD? I still hanker after it. Info greatly appreciated. Cheers, Mike. |

sure mike, its a 5 cd box set, full title is: Forever changes, the golden age of Elektra records 1963-1973 (Rhino). Is this the one you were wanting, it doesn't have a full side of QSM, in fact i've just had a look through the track listings and it deosn't have any! i'll gladly do you a copy? |

Thanks for the info, Jellybean. Sadly, it's a different beast entirely .. BUT, you gave me something to work on, and I've now found out the real title etc of the thing that I read about briefly way back when it was released. It's called 'Elektrock: The Sixties'. I was right about release date and number of discs. It's got sides of Love, Buckley, Stooges and MC5, and a lot of other stuff, but not QMS, but is nonetheless very very tasty, deleted, but eil have a copy at a price. I'm sorely tempted. Read the tracklisting and you may be too. Yum. Cheers, Mike |
