The Tremeloes (I believe that is who you mean) were great!
Here Comes My Baby http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bswxaeyQDFI
But the tops of the POPS for me were the GREAT BADFINGER!! No Matter What....knock down the old grey wall!!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xoke1wUwEXY&feature=related
Note the vidoe...Never saw that Gibbons played "conventional, jazz grip" only LEFTY--the way we learned to drum classically holding our sticks in opposite fashion--the jazz grip-- instead of both the same...usually, lefty's I knew used the matched grip, but it was not the most popular back in the 60's is it became..
Ringo was the first that I remember to use the matched grip to compensate for a right handed drum kit....at that is how I remember do to his high profile.

The Tremelo,s were quite popular ..i remember them having a.hit with the Beatle,s tune "Ob. la di ob la da". there were other,s..but i can,t remember them. The Swinging Blue Jeans did a cover of Clint Ballad,s "Youre no good".and a cover of "Good Golly Miss Molly" as well. |

The Tremeloes...good band..had those hits: Silence is Golden and Here Comes My baby! Good pop.... For a buck on a used cd I now have the pleasure of listening to old Irish "hammered dulcimer" music. Pretty good sound and tuning from that instrument. Kind of brigns you back to the medieval period. |

nice mix...one can see fine music taste with the inclusion of that Shirelles song...a great if there ever was one!.......
and ps how many songs do you guys have on your ipod? I have 3000 and now I'm in trouble after getting a gift of an iphone for Father's day. I transferred them to the iphone but now realize that I can't add anything at all. All my space is gone. I'm going to have to edit. But what to edit?? I like them all. Shall it just be just all the Love records and that's it??????...;-).... |

Always inexorably, inexplicably, and hopelessly fearful of newer technologies.Insisted on mostly vinyl well into the cd era,now in the age of the ipod,I plan on holding on to both of THOSE technologies until they're grasping for last breath in the world of modern electronic media.I'm still purchasing old cassettes from time to time and a little while ago,I saw an old protable radio with built-in eight track player and I'm actually considering buying one of the ones I've seen for sale on the net along with a few of the better cartridges!Perpetually the desperate nostalgic I guess.Tell me a bit about these ipod things. Are they fairly simple to load and operate?RSVP quick before I go out and get some Barry White reel-to-reels! |

I always kind of dug this one.The highly legitimate soul hooks blend nicely with the lyrical novelty. |
