Thought it might have been Prairie Prince on drums as at the Chetfest, but still looks good. Have a good 'un!

Robyn Hitchcock but that isn't until February. I have to keep my eyes open so I don't miss anything like The Seeds at the Knitting Factory. Saw them there 2 years ago.

X will be rocking the 9:30 club in DC Monday night. Caught the Knitters in Baltimore in August and John Doe solo in Pittsburgh in June. Saw them 3 years ago and they pretty much stuck to the first 4 lps. Had a roomate in graduate school that would play their albums back to back in marathon fashion, I did'nt care for them at the time, drove me nuts. I mentioned that to John and he commiserated. He was great in "The Good Girl" with Jennifer Anniston - not one line, just a blank stare at the idiot box.

TINARIWEN. An amazing band of Touareg tribesmen from Mali/sub-Saharan Africa who play some of the most wild and mesmerising electric guitar you'll ever hear. UK tour early summer, and again in autumn.
They are playing Stateside early spring. Also there at that time are LE MYSTERE DES VOIX BULGARES. Among their gigs is one at Grace Cathedral in SF. How I wish I could see them again. They make a heartbreakingly beautiful sound. Check out Amazon Music to confirm that my ravings are totally justified, and www.eyefortalent.com for full US tour dates for both. You can't beat passionate music.
