I was there with Lizzy and he did do the finger snapping thing - very expressive hands we were saying! His voice is both delicate and powerful at the same time, he's a one off.

The Zombies - or at least the surviving core of them - appeared a few months back on BBC's Andrew Marr Show. They did Time of the Seasons...which I especially remember from the magical CBS sampler, The Rock Machine Turns You On. I never got to see them live - but I did see Argent in 1970.... as a support band for Fotheringay. Incidentally, Roger McGuinn has often cited the chaotic keyboard break in She's Not There as an inspiration for Eight Miles High.

Tomorrow it's Otway and Barratt - Really Free.

Keep on shining

Where you live must deal with the same promotors as the town I live, we've had both The Zombies and Otway/Barratt play in the venue down the road!! Havn't seen either as I just can't afford any more gig tickets this month but have just got back from an evening of the music of Jacques Brel at the Barbican, London (it was my birthday present), a fantastic evening with great performances from the likes of Momus, Diamanda Galas, Camille O-Sullivan and the, ever wonderful, Marc Almond :-)

Thanks for the kind thoughts John, but it was my birthday back in August.... that's when my husband got me the tickets for last nights concert. He also got me tickets for Morrissey in Bournemouth on Monday night so fingers crossed it'll happen as the last two Moz gigs I've tried to go to have been cancelled/postponed!!!

Off to see Marc Almond in Bournemouth tonight (he was brilliant at the Jacques Brel event at the Barbcian last week) and then in a few weeks it's Lloyd Cole, another favourite singer, live in Bath.

My next gig is Lloyd Cole in Bath in a few weeks. In a totally different genre, I've got tickets to see The Stooges and Suicide at Hammersmith Apollo next May (you've got to buy that sort of thing early)

Will be there with video and audio taping gear, as always. Hope it's a good 'un as it looks like being the only date of the tour I can make.

Yeah, they are a pretty good band, saw them several years ago. Of course, they got popular after a few of their songs were used in 'The Sopranos' on TV.

I'm guessing you've got permission for the video/audio taping stuff? I'm finding some venues are being a right pain these days with stopping people even taking photos.
