Anyone ever compared both of these guys in terms of similarities?

Danny Kirwan is probably unfamiliar with some of the American users, but for some of the European users(especially the UK) you are probably familiar with him. Danny was a member of Fleetwood Mac from 1968 to 1972. He joined the band when he was 18(yes that is a fact) and left the band after a falling out with the band in part with alcoholism. Google "Danny Kirwan" and you probably find some info on him.

With seeing similarities with the two:
*Both had experienced the height of success in their late teens-early 20s as rock musicians. Bryan was in Love when he was 19-21. Danny was in Fleetwood Mac when he was 18-22.
*Both matured as song writers in later albums(Bryan in Forever Changes and Danny if you listen to Future Games and Bare Trees).
*Both were overshadowed by other peers. Bryan was overshadowed by Arthur, David Crosby, the rest of the guys from the Byrds. Danny probably the rest of the guys from Fleetwood Mac when he was fired.
*Noth were alcoholics I mean that is documented.
*Both never gained the success they held in their prime.

Joe. It is quite documented that he was in the time he was in Fleetwood Mac. He is somewhat of a recluse now and what of he does now is just from rumors. He last did an interview was in the 90s. A guy he interviewed only if he gave pints of beer(so that is from 90s. I do not know if he is still an alcoholic now or what.

I guess he doesn't play stuff like Sunny Side of Heaven anymore

last I heard he was living in a hostel in London; I don't know if any of his solo albums have seen reissue

A bit more bluesy & melancholy--much more than Bryan ever attempted..no sunshine and rainbows here! A blues guitarist that Fleetwood would love

I understand a lot of Mac w Kirwan tracks appeared on the Vaudeville Years & Madison Blues releases, not to mention Mac Live at the BBC, but Mr Kirwin is someone whose work has never received its due

And, sadly, he is the tragedy from Fleetwood Mac. Peter Green is still playing I'm sure (don't know if he ever played again with Jeremy & John & Mick, as much as Mick wanted it)

wasn't Dave Mason with that band for a while? Madness!

(and that's just the guitar players..

RIP Bob Welch
