well if it made the cover of the castle no 1 then it must be true.
Getsemane started off as a rumored Love album consisting of a bunch of arthur lee originals and couple of echols arthur cowrites, most of the material was arthurs.
then like so many things in this Love situaton it morphed into several different permutations until it became a johnny echols solo album.

if there is a Gethsemene it has to match the track listings on the Castle and the writing credits should match accordingly. everything else is just more BS.
i can get a bunch of kids in the studio and record an album called
Gethsemene, that doesnt mean that there was actually a lost Love album. the whole thing was a hoax in the first place, just like the Dylan/Elvis sessions.
if you believe any of this Gethsemen BS, i think you should know theres people willing to sell the brooklyn bridge for a couple of bills. |

there are tracks on that that Bryan and Arthur knew nothing about?
So whens the due date for Black Beauty? next year sometime?! |

you are going to have to ask the guy from the fanzines. i would like to just point out that fanzines are not the most reputable news sources.
i would think that if the castle has arthur as being the writer or co writer of all the supposed Gethsemane songs, he would be aware the songs existed since he wrote them. but, in this Love thing, stranger things have been known to happen.
be as it may, black beauty has been available now for many years. |

I've heard Johnny singing a Gethsemane song, I have to say it is very promising and I sure look forward to hear the album one day.

its a made up album all around. it never existed. if it was made up then its made up now.
for an album that was supposedly written back in 67 its sure taking a long time to complete, sgt pepper never took this long.

We're not gonna start this all over again are we? Now I see why Johnny gracefully left the forum...too bad for us.
It took Brain Wilson 40 years to return to "SMiLE"...and we're very happy he did.
Johnny was a co-founder of Love....Johnny is recording Gethsemane. Yes. Arthur WAS Love. But Johnny was as integral to the "sound" of LoVE as Arthur. A few songs were written in '67-68 for a follow-up album to Forever Changes that never came to fruition in an LP- they will be included in this new album if Johnny has the time, literally.
It took Arthur almost 40 years to get back to Forever Changes and come to terms (somewhat) with his musical demons. And if Baby Lemonade were good enough for Arthur....they're good enough!
We should be dissing Johnny for getting back to Love himself after all these years??!! NO! Where's the Love guys?!! Oy!
Good for Johnny...I'm sure it will be a recording that reflects his love and respect for Arthur, and the legacy that is LoVE!

you are comparing johnny echols to brian wilson? brian wilson was a legend prior to smile, having written and recorded scores of classic albums. johnny echols without Al has released 0. same as me. without the sketch pad, arthur would not have written FC? well the wrecking crewe cuts sound pretty good to me.
the songs written for the FC followup are contained in the album Four Sail. If anyone wants to beleive that AL was going to record an album of JE songs, thats fine, but i wasnt born 10 minutes ago.
Arthur did songs from FC from the get go, just because he didnt perform the entire album in its released sequence( who did that at the time nobody), didnt mean he had any musical demons. its just more BS.
anyone wants to give me odds on Gethsemane coming out, i got a hundred dollar bill i can put down.

those are good sentiments, however, someone has to stand up to the attempt to rewrite history. seems like everyone just sits with folded arms while the train runs right over arthur lee.
why should some people have their say and not others. the only axe i have to grind is the truth. theres only so much bs someone can read before it just boils over.

| I remember in Love Story it was stated that Johnny Echols was working on Gethsemane. No matter who wrote what, I am looking forward to this album. I hope it comes out sooner than later, as I am looking forward to it more than Black Beauty. |

Black Beauty is the same acetate we ve had for years. im sure everybody in this forum has heard it.
there is no such thing as Gethsamene,its never going to come out because it never existed.
JE may be recording some things under the title of Gethsamene as a marketing ploy but it has nothing to do with arthur or love. in any event, its never going to come out either. |
