And yes I do think he should be held accountable.

And ideally if the whole Boston Red Sox organization is sensitive to the issue every one who works there in some decision-making capacity needs to check themselves out and their group and ask themeelves questions too. TF was the guy who paid the price with his job. But you know he in a way is "backed up" by them.

Right, but on the same page, do we then fire the whole pitching staff that could not stay in the game for more than a few innings, forcing Tito to jumble the line up day after day just to find fresh hurlers?

Fire the pitchers, fire the hitters that weren't hitting? When a team is struggling (the second highest paid team at that), it's the manager's job to shake things up, move players around, get them motivated. For some reason the Sox were not "motivatable". I'm sure it became a nightmare everyday for Tito, as pitchers were forced out, not throwing to their potential, and batters were flat, and the defense was slow....just trying to figure out how to get these guys to play ball!

But really, when they are paid millions, shouldn't that be motivation enough-- a moral obligation to play their very best every day!!?
Nothing worse than watching a lazy millionaire with a bad attitude.

Not much a coach can do when they are on the field...you know...it's time to PLAY BALL!

But I understand...sometimes you gotta shake things up, and nothing has been really shaking with the Sox since 2007.

Maybe they got fat and happy, eh? I'm always fascinated with these meltdowns.

Wow...Yankee fans & media must be calling for someone's head!

Detroit hasn't won a deciding game five since 1968! Maybe the Yanks coach is next to get the axe?!

Girardi is not going anywhere. Wow, what were the odds that the three superteams, Yanks, Sox, Phillies, would all be going fishing, hunting or golfing at this time. Some great 5th games and more excitement to come.

But NY seems to be losing its taste for A-ROD.

I see in the paper today that Girardi didn't get the heat (heave) as Francona did by missing the playoffs. Interesting, Girardi hasn't got into the Series for awhile now since he took the helm from Torre.
I wonder how long that's going to last before old Hank leans hard on him.

We may hear these words next year. "Now batting for the New York Yankees, DH David Ortiz." Papi is a free agent and has said there is now too much drama in Boston and who wouldn't like to play for an organization like the Yankees. This is what I woke up to this morning on the NY Sports Radio. It's just a shock, but it may happen. I don't know what went on there, but I'm sure none of it would have come up, had they just made the playoffs. This is far from over.

Sure, there's going to be plenty of fishing line to string out!!!

And have we checked out what's going in Boston? The flak is getting real hot if you check the tv, radio, the blogs, the Net where fans are raging. They are in the inferno now. Stuff is getting out that's not a good look at the team.

And check this out. Some believe the Sox office was distracted..i.e. paying perhaps more attention to their investment in Liverpool than what was going on at home..(they own them)

I suppose they thought the BoSox would make it, somehow, to the playoffs on cruise control....or by attrition of the other teams, so they weren't watching.
