Has anyone heard the version of Everlasting First on the box set? Is it the same version as on The Blue Thumb Acetate? |

I'll ask a friend...though it says "Featuring Arthur Lee" in the song title...I can't find any thing else.
Maybe in the liner notes...we need to find a new Box owner!

Thanks for this, Stewart. It's sounds to me as though it was the second half of this recording that was used on the False Start version - though I could be wrong. If this is the case however, I wonder if the reason behind it was to keep the length of the track in line with the other cuts on the album....which of course are all below four minutes in length. I've often felt that False Start was crafted as it was as a reaction to the several instrumental longueurs for which Out Here had become noted. |

KD: Great mix by Eddie Kramer, now the definitive version of the song. A bit longer too as it has an extra verse but with the same lyrics duplicated.
Also of interest on this box is My Diary by Rosalee Brooks with songwriting credit to Arthur |

I think that John9 and kdion11 have covered most bases on this track. It does seem to be a different mix as well. It states, however, in the liner notes that it was recorded at Olympic Studios in New York, despite having already said that Jimi met up with Arthur and Steve Stills for sessions in London.(Just a typo). |
