It's OK jazzy. It is rather funny sometimes how large that Atlantic communication gap can be sometimes...especially British humor (which I love) vs Western humor.
Is it true that one of my favorite California 60's psych bands--KAK---is a rather crude three-letter word in the UK?
I always thought it was just a monogram kind of album title... ...... but I didn't know what it was short for. Then I met someone from the UK that I was turning-on to the music and he said he couldn't believe they named themselves that. That it wouldn't have flown in the UK back in the 60's at ALL!!

Love it Tina, though, as your dictionary seems to point out 'cack' only ever, in the UK, seems to mean 'crap' and I can't say I've heard anyone using the word for years. It seems, as these things do, the have gone out of fasion! 'KAK' doesn't actually mean anything
As for the aforementioned 'w*nkers' expression, it's mildly offensive in the UK but probably only to your maiden aunt and Margaret Thatcher |

Kdion... it can't only be me who is finding your 'free the....' humour is wearing a little thin now? [/quote]
If so why do other's continue to emulate it ? Not just on this list but several others !
A little light humor is sometime needed around here with the "oh I'm so important, and have so much well connected inside information" opinions floating around. People sometimes tend to take themselves a little bit too seriously methinks. What do you think ? Oh, that's right we already know.

KD: Where do you come up with this stuff Caryne ? Not being negative (again !) but who ever said that the "Love Band shouldn't exist" ?
NOBODY !
Just because certain members said they wouldn't go to the new shows doesn't mean that the group "shouldn't exist" . Not one person has said that. Go back and read the posts. It appears that you're just putting words in people's mouths to back your own opinions.

That's interesting about KAK...DUTCH!!
Though pronounced the same in the UK and since my UK friend hadn't seen the cover..... Guess I better watch it at your board, Ed .....one of my all time favorite 60's psych bands....."Lemonade Kid" is a favorite tune by KAK!! Hence my moniker!! I almost called myself "KAK" at Ed's board!!! HA!! The good (Dutch)folks at Freedomman.com might have viewed me a bit differently if I had!!
Let's NOT free the KAK!!!
Here's the track that I love so much that I "named" myself after it....mellow psych....

My apologies, I meant to say people think they shouldn't exist as 'Love'. Sorry, wouldn't want anyone to get confused here. End of topic for me.
On the 'cack/KAK' thing, I remembered that my Granny, long gone now but a 'respectable, christian women' (!!) use to describe those clumsy with their hands as 'cack handed', I wonder where this expression came from? I havn't heard anyone use it for many years though so guess it's pretty archaic. |

If you don't have the KAK album. you can get it on CD at amazon for a very reasonable $$ used.....it's called KAK-OLA with a bunch of acoustic and alt versions as bonus tracks. Fo me, Gary Lee Yoder is one of the premier guitar players-singer/songwriters of his day. He went on to play (I mistakenly said he was on "New Improved!"...that of course was Randy Holden).... Gary was on "Oh Pleasant Hope" and "Original Human Beings" the last two by Blue Cheer). There doesn't seem to be any downloads at Amazon or anywhere else.
But you gotta have it, rocker, bob, jonh9, ol' man and all you psych rock lovers.
I bet it was bottle neck/slide guitar..rocker>
