I found the interviews on http://www.indie44.com/love/links.html
Holy crap, these may do more dammage than good. Arthur unfortunately
in the various interviews trashes everyone including Mick Jagger, Brian Wilson, Paul McCartney and nearly every past member of Love.
I can't believe what he said to Jack White. It's almost funny, but its really sad. But the strangest interview is one where he plans to reunite with the 1965-1968 band. I believe this must have been in the late 80's, too bad it didn't happen.

Arthur did a (small) interview with Jools Holland in the UK where he comes across with the same attitude as the NME (and various other interviews). I know what you mean with the "almost funny" comment

Arthur has always been a troublesome interviewee - part of his charm as far as I'm concerned...

Note what he says about the Hendrix session. "Everlasting First", "Easy Rider" and a long jam. Exactly what Remi Kabaka told me.

Hey, thanx for those links. I've gotta agree with Tina that his being a troublesome interviewee is part of his charm. The Jack White interview is the classic madcap curmudgeon:

"I creep into people's hearts and their minds. And once I've got your mind, your mind's on my mind...and your mind and we belong together."

And of course: "When I come off stage... my underwear is wet." (unlike Jagger, etc.)

It may be "part of his charm", but there is a reason he doesn't have many peers as friends. He seems to have no respect for any artists in these interviews. He has has a nasty habit of berating former band members. It's like he always wants to be seen as the decision maker, "I fired him before he quit", "he drank too much", "he never signed a contract", "I don't have to pay him". I hope the man regains his health, but those interviews reveal the real Arthur that I knew.

Everybody wants to know Arthur but Arthur doesn't want to know anybody - don't know why - autism, personality disorder, whatever. He's certainly not Mr Nice Guy thats for sure.

Speaking as a Nottingham resident I love the thought of him scarng off people in the Holiday Inn.

No he hasn't. He's never claimed that more than three songs were recorded.

I bought shakey an neil young biography yesterday and he has some interesting view on Love:"Love-they were cool.pretty "out there".They were just bad enough and ****ed up enough to make fun of-but they were so good, too. They were just off-the-wall--They weren`t really respected for what they were doing by other musicians. But Love was a great band--When you look back on it,they were really awesome."Orange skies"."I just got out my little red book..."Those ****in`songs, what the hell is that?Great stuff."In a footnote to this cite:"Arthur Lee told me((Jimmy Mcdonough-the author))Neil might have something to do with "daily planet.""nope,"said Young.
