Yardbirds - The BBC sessions, right now: Heart full of soul.

Bobinbed...Great choice. The Yardbirds are SO good, IMHO. Couldn't agree more with you. Have you tried the Little Games CD?

I am currently listening to Out Here from Love, and I have been on this Flora Purim thing. The only other group I have been listening to is Os Mutantes, I moved on to their prog rock album Tudo Feito Foi (I don't know the rest). Its pretty cool.
If you like The Mars Volta, this particular album may interest you a little bit. Its one of the last Os Mutantes records they put out.

frankly, it left me rather indifferent. Maybe I need to give it a few more tries. Nice packaging, though...
A reassessment on that: It's possible I wasn't paying the best attention before--or maybe it's the difference between listening on Tuesday, and listening on Saturday. At any rate, Gilmour's new thing is better than I had realized, it has some good songs and a lot of very nice guitar work. I don't think it could be said that he broke any new ground on it, but it definitely has some fine moments that show further development of his fine fluid style. |

waxburn, good choice with the Jellyfish album - really loved that band and they were excellent live when I saw them.
Curently listening to a bootleg of Steve Marriott - justifiably called the best white soul singer ever. |

I really like the David Gilmour disc. I've played the hell out of it already. I attended a rock & roll 'Swap Meet" yesterday and bought some great bootlegs from Bob Dylan,Van Morrison,Belle & Sebastian, and a bootleg dvd of the Beatles 2 shows in Tokyo from 1966. |

The Black Angels - Passover (Austin, Texas 2006 Light In The Attic Records) Some hard and heavy kickass new 'old-style'(ish) psych. High diggablity rating. They even got a chick with a tambourine, and she ain't afraid to use it! |
