Chris Farlowe - Out of Time. One of the greates voices of all time, can't help but think he was a bit of a waste of talent though...

He certainly had an extremely good voice. I seem to remember that he followed up Out of Time with another Stones' classic - Yesterday's Papers - and he was on Top of the Pops several times in late'66 and early'67.

Yeah, i've been listening to his classics on spotify all afternoon; while it makes a good listen his only real masterpiece is the cover of Out of Time. By the sounds of it he burnt out far too quickly, and started collecting Nazi memorabilia...such a shame, he had the ability to be a real great.

CF appears to have done better with "covers" as opposed to origs throughout his long career.

And please don't forget Chris Farlowe's brief tenure with Atomic Rooster. Suffice it to say, they split up soon afterwards!

What a great great "band"...reminds me of Arthur's Love with all the constant personnel changes, but what a great duo they were...not a bad album in their catalog. "Royal Scam" was a favorite of mine back in the day!

Enjoy your Steely Dan, Allan!

you know, I like the early SDan these days - that soundtrack Becker and Fagan did for the film You Gotta Walk It Like You Talk It

and of course Can't buy a thrill, which I had originally on vinyl (NOT the gatefold with the lyrics though!)

always surprised the single from 1972 (UK only) wasn't reissued by the band on the remaster of that album. Its a great single: Dallas b/w Sail the waterway.

good luck finding it on cd of course

Hi Lem .Hi Joe.. Great band...can,t buy athrill...aja...pretzilli logic..Brilliant albums...my personal fave is Goucho from the early 80,s, as it reminds me of coming back to London to live from Greece, and a lady i was with at the time.
Yeah, Donald Fagan..what avoice man, and such a TIGHT band...like the MOTHERS and F.Z. for tight music. Great memories....."ARE YOU REELING I THE YEARS?"...LOL
