Hi Jellybean, what a suberb gig and Maggies voice is still great. She's got one hell of a backing band - Miller Anderson on guitar(Savoy Brown/Keef Hartley Band), Colin Hodgkinson on base(Back Door), Zoot Money on Keyboards and Colin Allen on drums(Stone The Crows). Maggie is still one of the greatest white blues/soul female singers in the world and had at one time had been called the british Janis Joplin (she was born in Glasgow). Try "Teenage Licks" - Stone The Crows, and her two solo albums are both good - "Queen Of The Night" and "Suicide Sal" They play Glasgow tonight, shame I can't be there for that one! |

Someone else you might call the British Janis Joplin is Marie McCormick, also from Glasgow. |

Wow, that's altogether fitting and ironic at once isn't it. |

Who's going to see the Stooges, anybody? Allan (from Philly)? They sold out in DC (closest they come to me) faster than you can say iggypop. I guess I'm gonna miss it. Their brand new album really rocks, I imagine the tour will too. |
