Starry Eyed And Laughing - Jet Plane Rider...a remarkable over and quite wonferful from a compilation of cover songs ("Forever Young") all recorded before their first album release in the 70's.

I'm So Restless is on 'Forever Young' - a brand new collection of tracks comprising songs recorded before Starry Eyed And Laughing's first official LP, together with Radio Session tracks..

Starry Eyed And Laughing
Imagine the 12-string Byrds, harmonies n' all, but with a searing Fender Strat lead & songs all their own!

12-String guitar genius, Tony Poole, has been named the King of the Rickenbacker at the official Rickenbacker website. And he actually exceeds the heights of Roger on the 12=String.

So damn good! Listen below to their own amazing original songs.

Starry Eyed And Laughing were either 15 years ahead
of their time or 10 years too late.
Either way, in 1974 they were voted the Rickenbacker
twangers most likely to succeed. Even before they signed to CBS, one paper observed:

ÔBy the end of '74 the group will be set fair. They'll emerge
fully in '75 - how's that for crystal-gazing?Õ

The critic concerned echoed the hopes of most pop pundits.
Starry Eyed were well-respected, loved even.
They wrote their own songs - the sort you felt you'd known
all your life - and played as if they'd just emerged from the
grooves of The Byrds' Fifth Dimension.
Named after the first line of the last verse of Dylan's
Chimes Of Freedom, the quartet released a few singles and two exceptional albums:

ECHOES (Gene Clark cover)...wow!
The amazing sound the the Byrds might have given it in 1966 of Gene had not departed.

'Echoes' is a Gene Clark song from his first solo album Gene Clark with the Gosdin Brothers (recorded in 1966, released in February 1967).

Gene Clark with the Gosdin Brothers is the debut solo album of Gene Clark, released in February 1967 on Columbia Records, catalogue CS 9418. It was his first effort after his departure from folk-rock group the Byrds in 1966. Though the album was a critical success and it established Clark as a talented singer-songwriter, it appeared very close to the scheduled release date for the Byrds' album Younger Than Yesterday in both the United States and the United Kingdom, hampering its possibilities for commercial success. The musicians on the album include: former bandmates Chris Hillman and Michael Clarke; Wrecking Crew session musicians Glen Campbell, Jerry Cole, and Leon Russell; future Byrd Clarence White; and Clark's future collaborator Doug Dillard. The folk/country vocal duo the Gosdin Brothers added backing vocals, and subsequently received co-billing. It ended up as the lowest selling Columbia release to date.

(only a few hundred sold at the time...I have a promo, mono original! My treasure! -lk)
