when I was six and a half in early '76 my mother was working in a nightclub where the Monks were doing a comeback tour with writers Boyce and Hart in place of Tork and Nesmith. They didi a special free show for the children of employees who of course knew them from afternoon kiddie programming. Naturally, I would have preferred seeing them in their popularly known goruping, but it was actually quite an energetic show. I still would like to see Tork and Nesmith play today, but let's face it, people are more than happy with just Mickey and Davy because they sang all the big hits anyway. Here in Boston, the b oys have come through many times to do free concerts along the Charles River for a local oldies station(Oldies 103fm) I never made it to one but I heard they always put on quite a show along with special guests like Peter Noone and Gary Puckett. |

Hey, capt'.....you can trash all these multiple repeats by clicking the "trash can' icon at the top of each post. Sometimes it seems not to respond when clicking "post", so I used to hit it multiple times, as you likely did...then it gets posted multiple times!
Good memory of the Monkees, capt'!
Cheers--lk.

I think I'd actually rather see Mr. Nesmith with his own band doing country rock originals. Alot of his talents were obscured by the whole Monkeemania thing. |
