I can see Four Sail or Out Here getting a reissue, but Black Beauty? Hmmm....I'll keep my boot for now.
But any new exposure to Love & Arthur Lee is a positive thing so who am I to say. We are always crying for Love to get more press and fans....anything helps!

| Personally I think this is another, in a series of counter productive moves. Love is being embraced by a whole new generation of fans, who are really into their music. I'm afraid this hodge-podge of forgettable songs, will prove to be a commercial, and critical flop. Worst case, it may even cause Love, to appear as just another ordinary group from the sixties. Both Arthur and Johnny hated it, and wanted to have it removed from the shelves. Being that it was a "bootleg" release, they had no control over it. Most publicity, is good publicity.... bad music is just BAD!! |

Its okay, at least they might get the song titles right on this release!
apparently the Whisky tape hasn't surfaced (yet) so Love material being released is post-Elektra. Still of interest for Lee fans, though a live tape of the band at their (inarguable) peak would be wonderful! |

you would have to buy the album first of course
its an interesting point - the first Love album I picked up on was Studio/Love, but I had been looking for Forever Changes previous to that and had only picked up S/L as it was the only Love I could find on cassette (I don't think I had a turntable then as it had broke)
eventually I got a friend to record the Forever Changes cd to tape (sigh - Sony Walkman days!) and the rest is history (the name we give to our mistakes)

I'd looked there before...checked again and finally found it (good reminder as to why most sites put new information at the top and not bottom :).
Yep, I plan to buy the turkey. For all its flaws its an enjoyable set for those of us into Arthur's heavier 70's sound.
Those not into Arthur's heavier 70's sound can sod off :) (<- just having fun, don't get yer knickers in a bunch) |
