As you may recall, I am a 'Spin' (indoor cycling) instructor at my gym, part time and for fun. I have mentioned that I often include LOVE songs in my play-lists for Spin classes. It's my own little way of turning on LOVE to the people who are unfamiliar to the group.
In my last class, I played 'You I'll be Following', followed by '7 and 7 is', followed by 'My Flash on You'. Each song was done to a seated run at resistance 5 (of 10), and at certain points in each song, I ask the class to sprint (double their run speed). It was exhilarating.
I play all kinds of "my" music, and of course, no one in any of my classes have ever heard these particular songs. The trick is to play a song and match the beat of the song with a routine.
I love doing Rory Gallagher blues (Million Miles Away, Daughter of the Evereglades, Sinner Boy 'live from the Isle of Wight' to standing climbs.
I have to admit my favorite blues to a seated or standing climb is "Hear My Train a Coming"-especially the Live at the Fillmore version.
