I'm sure many of us have looked at the cover of Forever Changes hundreds of times and never realized what the artist was trying to convey with the strange almost eerily abstract jumble of faces, reminiscent of a bad acid trip.
What do you think the drawing signifies

A trip, of course....an organic montage of what Love is...every
"element" or member a part of the whole, interconnected.
And the shape resembles a heart too.....Brilliant. It has mine.
The theme was taken further on Spirit's first LP cover with photographs,
each member spliced to create one face. Must have picked up on Pepper's art.

Its one of the most beautiful album covers of all time. I wonder if the original artwork still exists somewhere. |

I've looked at that cover year after year while listening to the music, trying to get inside the artist's head. What was the meaning! What was he trying to say Then one day out of the blue, it became clear as though a veil had been lifted, It's a Human Heart

Right.and maybe a "Rorschach" for the psychedelic era, eh?????. ...and if Bob Pepper is around maybe he has some thoughts on his cover art for the album...really a beautiful and compelling for the time! |

Its definetly shaped like a human heart, quite genius actually considering the times. I too have heard the Africa thing, I am not convinced that was on Pepper's mind when he made it, but then again only he knows. |

The colors are really done well on the cover of FC..you don't think Bobby unconsciously had swirling in his mind ........
