Forssi was recruited by Buffalo Springfield for a stand at the Whiskey after Bruce Palmer was deported. Buff got to know him opening for Love.....
Michael Stuart told me that he loved that Whiskey-Springfield lineup best and loved to listen to them play during what is considered Springfield's peak.
BTW, Michael's favorite Buff tune? "Hot Dusty Roads"!! One of mine too. I guess that tune was awesome LIVE!! Would I have loved to see Kenny in Buff? Oh yeah!!
Kenny said it cracked him up when people kept asking the question...had he quit Love to join the Buffalo Springfield!!? Ha!

| Very interesting story Lemonade Kid,I know of course of his Buffalo Springfield stand in but thats it,have to listen to "hot dusty roads" for sure!!Such a sad story about Kenny in Michael Stuarts book though,robbing him for all his stuff when they had this happy mate reunion stuff going,and Kenny appeared at first to be clean.. |

| And to Boombox,totally agree your Lemmy inclusion to this thread,sorry forgot about him but you are so right naming him in this thread! We all know his vocals in Motorhead but he is to often ignored as a fantastic bass player! |

I think it was Steve 64 who gets the credit for including Lemmy
To be honest, I'd rather have all my fingernails pulled out than spend even five minutes listening to Motorhead but I agree he's damn good at what he does. Sadly, like the late Ron Asheton (Stooges guitarist) I am rather put off him by his fondness for collecting Nazi memorabillia...maybe this is something to do with me having a jewish mother? |

Actually, on the subject of favourite musicians and Phil Collins (!!!) I read an article the other day online that said Phil, in the 80's, very much appeared to copy the style of one of my favourite drummers, Dave Barbe (orignal Adam and the Ants drummer, before they were famous, and drummer for Bow Wow Wow). I know Dave and I'm sure his mind is boggling as much as mine over that comparison!!

Dirk Wears White Sox is a great album, I remember buying Young Parisans on 7 inch single in 1979 I think, 30 years ago!
