Actually the thing I remember most about that book is how badly bound it was, all the pages fell out when I tried to read it. Must have been done very cheaply so hard to imagine anyone paying a lot for it

I actually gave my copy away after I had read it......$150 eh, Caryne? We never seem to know at the time just when we are sitting on a potential goldmine, do we? Oh well...not to worry.

$150 dollar!!! I mean, it's a nice read, but that is way too much!
I have a signed by the author copy, does this double the prize?

Probably not. Not a very good book

I can't imagine anyone paying 150 for a Love
book, even one autographed by Ken Brooks (Love
Story) or
Pegasus Carousel (Michael Stuart) (although
I think only the cd-roms for the book
were signed by Michael)

I paid about $10 dollar for it, so I'm cool with it.

I have a signed copy of Michael's book, but that was a personal favor...not a regular thing
Pegasus is going for $75 TO $250 ONLINE...generally at the higher end.
I was lucky and got mine for $60!! It will never be republished, so it is a nice book to have, especially since a book by a Love member is kinda rare!!

ED! Are you back from the states??!! Was it a NICE Birthday present?

Think Michael was signing the CD version that he put out for sale on the web? -- mine certainly has a dedication on it. I'd kind of forgotten that Helter Skelter had published a print version. That was such a great shop as well down on Denmark Street, spent many hours in there, nice dude that ran the operation as well. Think I bought a few copies of The Castle in that shop, along with far too many books about rock'n'roll.....

Yeah, to the best of my knowledge all the CD version's sold by Michael on the web were signed.

I agree that Denmark Street shop was great, such a pity it's gone, I too bought some good books there.

I was so drunk when I reviewed that .. man!

On the positive side I just posted an Amazon video review of
Rick Wright's wretched Zee album. Christ on a bike!
its even worse than Wet Dreams. Pants, actually

Does anyone know if David Housden has an email? or if
he still has any old Castles or scrapbooks in stock?
I'm only coming across Nick Drake scrapbooks on eBay,
and they're costing a small fortune

Really wish he had done the book on Love. I think it
was gonna be called Forever Changing; but then again
that was years ago when he made mention of the fact
he was writing a book on the group; it looks like he
ended up giving it a miss. Probably not much interest
in a book on Love, to be honest. Never mainstream

David Housden has a profile on here, you can try contacting him through that. Otherwise you could always write to his home address, I don't think he's moved. It's here

http://www.thefreedomman.com/love/thecastle.html

It might be a better bet than trying to contact him through here as I don't think he was ever very into the internet.

Sigh
Absolute tragedy that bloke never wrote anything about Love
Love fans owe him a lot. There was no better publication
than the Castle (well the first massive 13 issues LOL!)

And where else could you learn about the Bryan Maclean band,
or Gethesemene (which does not seem to exist, but who knew?)

Or the New Rose album Arthur cut in the early 90s

You had to buy Four Sail on lp to hear it back then. Or find
it as a Thunderbolt cd!

Hope he happened to move some of the old Castles out of his
home and they're not taking up TOO much room

Perhaps they're doubling as doorstops...
