But then of course, it is precisely this that intensifies our wanting to know. There's part of me that hopes that Gethsemane enigma will never be resolved!
Right, john.....unlike the legendary SMiLE album...which we all knew really WAS, but only available as a boot till recently. The legend of Gethsemane, unfortunately, is just that, LEGEND!!
Maybe it is best to keep the magic by remaining legend...."the stuff dreams are made of". Unlike SMiLE, it can only disappoint after all these years....especially, as compared to FC.

"Don't ask me what I think of you/I might not give the answer that you want me to" - Hah, Great song! A staple on Cleveland radio for a brief moment...I covered it once back in the '80's, I'm not sure if anyone got it though. Oh well. |

Just put up the intro to Albatross on Youtube (the ones I was finding were in a different key - the main riff of the song is in the key of B with an A chord fragment being played at the 5th fret
I suck at Oh Well even tho its using 3 strings
Has anyone worked out any of Bryans solo stuff on guitar? are there any lyrics out there for ifyoubelievein or (God help us!) Praise & Worship? I can't find anything on the Sundazed site. I'm trying to work out what key "People" is in - I'm sure I hear a C major chord in the song!

Coincidentally, I have during the last week, invested extensively in early Fleetwood Mac. I've had Greatest Hits (on Sony) for more than ten years but now waiting to be played are three 'Blue Horizon' albums: Fleetwood Mac (dustbin/trashcan cover); Mr Wonderful and Pious Bird of Good Omen. Each of these seems to have been packed out with bonus tracks. Also in the queue are Then Play On (on Reprise)and Boston Blues (on Recall)- curiously, Boston seems to be one of the few places where you can actually hear the the 1970 B side, World in Harmony - albeit in a live version.
The band were very much a favourite of my late Mum whose home town happened to be Fleetwood, Lancashire - a quiet and very pleasant seaside town. I realise that this is at best, a tenuous connection - although Christine Perfect/McVie is also a Lancashire girl....and therefore of course, a true 'English Rose'!

Don't think "World in harmony" was ever recorded as a studio track - I've only heard it on the live Boston package myself
Thankfully I live near NY so I can go to Lincoln Center and check out any sheet music I want. Which includes the songbooks for Bare Trees, Mystery to Me
no Then Play On though. Don't know when they started publishing song books, but I've never found any for some REALLY early music (Moby Grape, Love, Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac (the band not the album)
I have to listen to FChanges. Haven't listened to it for 3-4 days, which is unusual for me! |

Joe -World in Harmony was, at least in the UK, the B side of The Green Manalishi single - and apparently was recorded at the same Hollywood session - but it is not all easy to find. I've a feeling that the studio version is available on a budget 3CD compilation entitled Men of the World. I would love to see Warner/Rhino get the band's early Reprise catalogue into some sort of (remastered) order. |

I have some of the Bryan Maclean songs with lyrics and chords. We use to have a little Bryan Maclean party now and then here in Copenhagen. We team up 8-10 guys with guitars and sing harmony, with a couple of beers and a lot of Love songs. We use to play "Kathleen" "Barber John" "Candy´s waltz" "She looks good" "Friday´s party" and of course Macleans contributions to Love. I´ll find them in a less busier moment.

Early Fleetwood...nice. I just found a nice vinyl of "Then Play On" with "Oh Well". Guess I'm partial to the Peter Green period. I have a chance to get a nice LP of Peter Green's "The End Of The Game". Recommended, John?
Fleetwood's family tree is pretty extended too!! So sad we can't have a Fleetwood reunion tour of the ORIGINAL lineup!! RIP

With all of Peter's medical issues I hadn't realized he was active even now with a new band. It's good to hear. There would be interest in the UK....I'm afraid the US would be for the later lineup. ____________________________________________________________ Round up the usual suspects.... |

Micks been playing a lot of the early Mac stuff while on tour (before doing the FMac tour) so its obvious its on his mind - playing again with Pete
Where is Pete? I understand hes no longer in the UK, and Mick was living in Hawaii, or at least theres where he started his solo tour
Jeremy put out a solo album a few years back (blues of course) so I can definitely see the original "Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac" coming together again
I forget whether Mick played on Jeremys record. I think Spencer did play on a recent Mick solo album howsoever..
Its definitely a dream of Micks, to play again with FMacs founder - whether it'll come off when (if?) the Mac plays in the UK again..
I have no interest in the band since Christine left, tho her solo album In the meantime.. its REALLY bad.. |

i have been enjoying " Pious Bird...", and all of F.M. early recordings with Danny Kirwan and Bob Welch. "Mystery To Me" album has Welch's usual vision of UFOs and paranormal mystery in his "Hypnotized". F. Mack Had always been one of my guilty pleasures. Stevie Nicks is one cool singer!

Christine was solid and integral. Peter, last I heard, was in Sweden.....but that may have changed. His health/meds issues make it very hard to concentrate on-stage, I understand.
Some kind of early Mac reunion would be great, sans Buckingham/Nicks. I really like them, but would rather see a Buckingham/Nicks tour......reviving their one & only LP.
