great book! i hung out on the strip around 1966 -68, on and off, and missed the big riot. but i was there late'67- early '68 noticing heavy police action. they were busting illegal smiles and Mods/ hippies for being Mods/hippies! i was busted on the Strip in '68 just because i was hanging out while being hip. i was also stoned on LSD. That wrecked the jail experience!
Still surprised no tapes of Love have turned up from that time. You'd figure some conniving villain would be taping their sets on the sly to get the right lyrics for Hey Joe!
Very nice pictures of the band at the Whisky. Even a few unfamiliar to me, and I'm a regular reader of the Castle! (RIP!)
