LK.......do you have a mono "LOVE" (1st lp)? cause i'm wondering if it is very different from the mono release CD (2001, MONO/STEREO DISK with bonus tracks, "#14", and alternate "Signed DC").
is the LP MONO better than the CD MONO?
i think i know your answer!!!, but i wanna hear why in details!

I wish I had that one...I don't. But you already know that that the mono CD is great, so I can only surmise that vinyl is better. I'm guessing Torben or Freed can tell us to confirm. I find mono to be brighter and up front and punchier...especially the drums in most cases. I can only assume that the original vinyl is best because the direct mastering to vinyl is almost always superior. Nothing lost as in subsequent generations.

likewise....my mono Byrds is incomparable to the stereo. Same with Peppers, The Doors. I tried to listen to my original stereo vinyl of it, but took it of the TT. I couldn't waste my time, so I put on the mono and Crystal Ship transported me.

I can't imagine any CD mono sounding better than vinyl unless the original mono mastering was poorly done...the digital version can sometimes improve!!

I picked up a gem from 1978. Laura Nyro's Nested LP. White label promo with the cover timing strip. Her best album from that period....very rare. Nice

Has anyone heard this?
Z ARCHIWUM POLSKIEGO BEATU,BREAKOUT. A 1969 Polish psych band that is pretty amazing. It's all in polish, but it transcends borders..liner notes are in Polish too, so I don't have a clue about the band! Female/male vocals solid rocking paych.

And I got my "Kinks Are Village Green" two tone Reprise first press.
Anyone else love this obscure Kinks concept LP masterpiece?!!

Blonde on Blonde

Anyone else know this great South Wales psych rock/guitar driven band.....great reviews and played at Isle of Wight, just another great band that wasn't promoted well. One of the best of the 60's "unknown" bands!!

Here's a site with some listens....

man lots of "old" new things here.....

.."Breakout"....that Polish band kind of brings up the Plastic People of the Universe at the time, a Czech rock band...Tom Stoppard'splay "Rock'n'Roll" gives them pride of place.....

i just got a new vinyl "180 gram", " The Growing Concern" lp!
released in 1968 Mainstream, it's realy cool! stinging tremelo guitar and organ psych-pop- rock. A version of "Sit Down I Think I Love You", which is even different than The B. Springfield and The Mojo Men's! A great version of, " Mister You're A Better Man Than I", and mostly originals like, " Tomorrow Has Been Canceled" ( best title I heard this year).

Pearls Before Swine

.......The Fugs

.................Holy Modal Rounders

Some cult hero classic psych-folk artists of great interest and who created a collection of some of the strangest, most creative, and most iconic music of the day...back in the mid 60's. Far Out!!

Any opportunity to meet/interview any of them, Rick? Did they make it to the West Coast much?

Great band, bob. You know me, I love the 60's material even better. SSSSH was a trip throughout, along with that psychedelic cover.....one of the trippiest covers of its day!!

Remember these tracks, guys?!!

"I don't know that you don't know my name"

"If you should love me"
