Well, we are eleven games in now (for most)- and a glance at the league table reveals that the top four positions are occupied, as ever by Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester United and Arsenal. But with Aston Villa (led in my opinion by the League's best manager) playing really well and Arsenal's confidence seemingly at a new low, I just wonder how long the Top Four will keep their monopoly going. Add to all this the fact that my own club, Manchester City, have become supposedly the richest in the world (though as usual, notoriously inconsistent) and you have a very heady mix indeed. I predict - that Liverpool will take their first Premier League title ever (despite slipping up at Tottenham yesterday) and that Aston Villa will oust Arsenal from the Top Four. But I don't expect everyone to agree with me! |

I'd like to see Villa finish in the top 4 this season and I think you're right about O'Neill, he's a top manager. Old school and one of Cloughie's diciples! I'm not quite sure they'll manage it though, hopefully they'll prove me wrong. I don't support any Premier side but out of any of the potential winners I'd like to see Liverpool do it. I think Gerrard deserves to lift that trophie with Jamie Carragher following closely behind.
I have to say though that with each season that passes I become less and less interested in the Premier League. Far too much cash and not enough passion, loyalty or sportsmanship and respect for my liking. Being a supporter of a Championship club can therefore be quite confusing as you would dearly love to see your side in the top league but on the other hand you sometimes wonder why!
This is the time and this is the time and it is time, time, time, time, time, time, time.....

I know very little about football but my partner is a Spurs fan so, after having a bad couple of months, he's been really happy the last week. I watched the match yesterday and I couldn't really say that Liverpool looked any better than Spurs..surely not so good if they want to win. My daughter is a Villa fan so she's pretty happy too, be nice to see them doing well after all these years. |

Yes, I think you've got to the heart of it, Kula John. Though I am a seasoncard holder at City, it no longer feels real. When we last won the League title in 1968, we had a side that was entirely English born with players who had either been home grown or judiciously purchased when they were very young. That said, it is quite thrilling to see so much international talent on display ....when they turn up that is! Anyway we've got the Sunday kick-off in half an hour ...away to Bolton. I'm sure that both sides will view it, to use that Football Focus/Match of the Day cliche, as a must win game. Cheers |

Yes, Spurs have done wonderfully well since Harry Rednapp took over ...is that guy on something? It is good to see them getting their act togther after such a discouraging start. |

From what i've seen i think its a 2 horse race between Chelsea and Man.Utd....Liverpool for 3rd and hopefully a different team than Arsenal in 4th.
I'll be happy if we{Middlesbrough} finish in the top 10 |

Ah robby ...'Pool only for 3rd???? My heart, my heart! Yes, a horse race and I hope your outcome will not be true. I mean this has to be the year 'Pool gets the monkey off its back. Coupla years without a title you know? I know it will be rough. It's tough to win in the EPL week in week out. From a competitive point of view I admire Chelsea and manu having that fire that keeps them up there. With me, i think the games in the EPl are not only won on the picth but also in de head! If 'Pool wins the title this year I'd suggest that they had that end covered. They certainly have the talent. It's belief in the mind that counts too. You see that Spurs game last week, I mean the guys went to sleep in the 2nd half. I couldn't believe it. |

But did you see us last night? 3-2 against Dutch side Twente Enschede....and Robinho at his most magical. Move over Man United! ....I'm just trying to remember who we play on Sunday......no it's gone. |

It was interesting to see Arsenal on such good form yesterday. Unlike many City fans, I have always admired Man U and everything they've achieved ....but I do like to see them get turned over every once in a while! We have Arsenal's beloved neighbours, Tottenham, as our guests this afternoon. My seat is just behind the visiting manager and part of the entertainment during the recent visit of Portsmouth was seeing Harry Rednapp's reaction as each of our six goals went in. Something tells me though, that it is not going to be quite like that against his new club today.....but here's hoping! |

Yes Caryne, I knew that you'd probably have something to say about that. But I want to say that I am not in any way bitter about the result. In fact....I'm glad we lost really.....without it we would not have had what we have now....a new found sense of humility....always a good thing!
Seriously though, Spurs are doing wonderfully well just at present.....and I do congratulate them....even though I got soaked through! |

Couldn't resist really John, I live in a 'Spurs' household, even the cat has a Spurs mat to eat off!! Can't go on forever though, it's Liverpool in the Cup on Wednesday, that could be interesting. |

Yes, John, we were at a gig (Mercury Rev) but my partner's son sent him a text message. It'a madness really, how can the same tema go from crap to brilliant with just a change of manager? |
