good Aurora description LK. Wish i could say that I discovered her early, saw her in Bergen clubs with 100-200 capacity but I didnt. The sad fact is that Runaway that was a number one hit here in Norway for a long time. didnt impress me(much better live found out later!) Yet another Sundf°r wannabe I thought. But then she played the Bowie cover on my favourite Norwegian Talk show trygdekontoret around a month ago and Ive been a fan ever since.

Ok yet another murder song version :-)The lyrics are pretty descriptive and morbid but its metaphorical meaning ( I hope at least!). has this catcher in the rye innocence theme. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EtvMAT1dPdg&nohtml5=False

Thanks, BF. I too am a Susanne Sundfor fan...Both artists are unique in their approach, especially live, from what I've seen. I also like them both better, LIVE, and with less electronics if you know what I mean.

Know what you mean LK, and I partially agree. Sundf°rs latest albun 10 love songs is a little bit to electronic for me too, with some nice exceptions though, love the monotone hard electronic beating, dark but catchy accelarete for instance, especially seen live which was fantastic! She played a new song a few months ago at the Spellemannsprisen, norwegian Grammy show. lets hope this sets the scene for her next album :-) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PemIB2CprVM

One of my favourite Sundf°r live videos is this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u_EN83Fu12o Its from a workplace natural enviroment series with norwegian musicians some years ago, where the artists perform at a workplace.

From 2011, and typically Susanne not wanting to give a greatest hits performance plays with the exception of Turkish delight only new songs at that moment in time.Introducing for instance Memorial from 2015(!) ten Love Songs as "a song I finished this morning"

Memorial from her latest record ten love songs 4 years later live on °Ya festivalen Oslo 2015 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sY0-9WZ9YFE

Perhaps one of my favorite black artists and he's still alive, barely.
There's a lot of talent in this group.

Not a favourite, but interesting - "50 psychedelic 60s bands to hear before you die" - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DWDv-H6JJ38

I have to confess that I've only even heard of 14 of them, and have albums by only five (I suspect you'll do rather better than that, LK!). There are a few that deserve further investigation....

DT

Scottish, not British.

Ive heard of 18 of them and only have two of the albums or CDs ( Four Sail and first 13th Floor elevators), afraid we are no match for LK DaveyTee..

Not easy to judge after so short cuts but here are the ones I wrote down that sounded most interesting: Bread Love and Dreams, The Deep Six,July,Morgen(extra plus for the Edvard Munch cover!), The Serpent Power, The Underground and Womb.

Children of The sun is a classic for sure!

I have heard only one song of H.P Lovecraft that Im aware of at least, on a compilation album, cant remember name of song, long time ago.. But that didnt impress me much as I recall so never dug deeper into that band.

But that Wayfaring Stranger cover was awesome! So will give the a second try :-)

Off the top of my head, I have 35 of those 50 bands in my collection.

Pearls Before Swine is one of my faves, of course.

Those I recommend from the list that you may not know...

The underground is very god, yes. Also July!

December's Children-
Tomorrow (with Steve Howe later of YES)
The Open Mind
Morgen for sure, BF
The Pretty Things forever--we all know here
I especially recommend Faine Jade

And one of the most hauntingly beautiful psychedelic songs ever written...using every organic sound Rapp could find...

DT & BF...

The Open Mind is especially good garage psych--the musicianship is great....I have a nice 180 gram vinyl reissue that is very cool.

Full album
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nk6PXY4dFG8

And the cover art is a trip...

And you are so lucky in the UK to have Kaleidoscope as part of the brilliant Canterbury scene..those that don't have this band on some form are really missing something!

Sky Children is so fine...
