"The Beatles And The Stones...made it good to be alone" (G. Chadwick)

Meg Baird

Look at him shouting out, loud as thunder at the sea

He wants a bomb and so do we

A bomb from the sky is the perfect crime

Shoulder on shoulder and heat

The Beatles and the Stones suck the marrow out of bones

Put the “V” in “Vietnam”

The Beatles and the Stones made it good to be alone

Look at me, look at me proud of being seventeen

Locking in the pocket a smile

Soft from the school and cut by the rule

Oh I’m dazed, and I’m dazed, and I’m dazed

The Beatles and the Stones suck the marrow out of bones

Put the “V” in “Vietnam”

The Beatles and the Stones made it good to be alone

Hi Davey Tree!I know EXACTLY why you dig that Sorry Kisses song and video. They're just plain fun!On this site,we usually delve into more serious works usually with a tinge of societal importance, but lets face it,everone at some time or another just wants ot unwind and groove out to something that's simply downright pleasurable. This is EXACTLY the main reason why the Monkees are so popular at this messageboard.Underneath all the pre-Fab Four rip-off gaga, there happens to lie some really great tunes penned by some really great writers. Also,I think you may find an attraction in the band's very moniker.Sorry Kisses!I love it!

Thanks, Cap'n - as you say, a bit of fun does no-one any harm. However, there's another (only just discovered) reason why i might like this - drummer on the track, and indeed on the album from which it comes, "Keep Smiling", is none other than one Rusty Squeezebox. I wondered what he'd been getting up to in Yorkshire!

Just googled Rusty Squeezebox as the connotations of the name eluded me.He backed Arthur Lee as part of a 1993 incarnation of LOVE?!Most impressive.

Good stuff....I too remember Bobby Fischer. I still have his book Bobby Fischer Teaches Chess" all these years. Taught me the game. Yes, he was the 'king of infinite space'. If he lived perhaps until he was 100, I'd think that mind of his would still pull off some great combinations!

Absolutely,he was the Mozart of chess! His rematch against Spassky in 92 proved he could still play fantastic chess although he hadnt played tournament chess for almost 20 years.
Too sad he developed this mental illness early on and stopped playing chess at only 29 years old and in later life made some absolutely outragous anti semitic public statements which didnt make sense at all since both his parents were jews.
