Tom Waits' Kentucky Avenue

A fantastic live reading with a funny intro about growing up on Kentucky Avenue.

Here's an amazing one of the Pretty Things at the Blokker Festival Holland in 1965. Total chaos and Phil is either stoned out of his mind or completely pissed.

A fun and interesting clip. An interview with Jim Morrison's best
friend and Jim's clothes designer-- January Jansen.

Good to hear stories that aren't so well known....he must have some stories!! What a collection he must have!

A shamelessly derivative 60's band, yes.

A fun raw garage psych band of teens that may have recorded too soon,
but... infectious and fun, yes. A couple originals are actually very good
and the rest just remind me of my garage band daze. Give a listen to
this one! Very nice....

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WpDczXjM810

Then try a couple more...a nice Sundazed release.

Googling around on The Standells following their London gig found these great videos of them live on the Mike Douglas Show 5/27/66 on the Bedazzled blog:

Part One, nearly 8 minutes, Dirty Water, band introductions and chat, Storm A Comin, Mike Douglas and fellow hosts come on to dance
http://bedazzled.blogs.com/bedazzled/2010/04/the-standells-on-the-mike-douglas-show-52766-live.html

Part Two closing the show with Hey Joe, overhead mike wandering into shot, hosts dancing along, Pontiac ad, shot of audience at end including middle aged lady with a hat on the front row looking a very bemused by all this:

Not much of a video but who needs visuals with this brilliant music--a favorite of mine: TIM HARDIN

The genius and brilliance of Tim Hardin..."if I Were A Carpenter"...a wonderful melding of jazz & folk blues....the perfect version-- that was never covered as well by any other artist--the best is by the man that wrote it--Mr Hardin.

A fantastic live version of one of Richard Thompson's most beautiful song--the best Irish folk rocker today or any day! Of course he is a Brit but he gets that Celtic sound down!...and a funny intro...."What's this "Freebird?"

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1CQiCKeUHCA

Something a bit harder by Richard? "SHOOT OUT THE LIGHTS" ...PROOF AGAIN OF HIS Fender GUITAR BRILLIANCE!

& "WALL OF DEATH"
