Posted - 21/02/2007 : 19:23:53 Some of you I've noticed note a great line from some songs.... For me, one of the best was in Dylan's "Chimes of Freedom"..I flipped when I heard it...never can get it out of my head...
"Starry eyed and laughing as I recall when were caught Trapped by no track of hours for they hang suspended"....
That and the lyrics by Reed in the VU..Sweet Jane here...
"Standing on the corner Suitcase in my hand Jack's in his corset,Jane's in her vest Me, honey, I'm in a rock'n'roll band Riding in a Stutz bearcat, jim Those were different times They studied rules of verse And those ladies they just rolled their eyes"
man I think this is just one of the best in all of rock when it's linked with his music......

How about-- Once upon a time you dressed so fine Threw the bums a dime in your prime, didn't you?
...the whole song is lyric genius!
and of course my quote at the bottom another great lyric!

Spirit "Twelve Dreams..." ("Prelude-Nothing to Hide")
Ya, an amazing album! Spirit's first four albums have always been on my "favorites" shelf--starting with the first LP, released in "67 ( I think Randy California was just 16 on that one?!) |

Posted - 02/03/2007 : 02:42:28 You sure you want to be with me I've nothing to give Wwon't lie and say this lovin's best Leave us in emotional peace Take a walk, taste the rest No, take a rest I see you digging a hole in your neighborhood You're crazy but you're lazy No need to live in a lean-to Your troubles must be seen to seen to Money like it's paper with faces i remember I drink on a daily basis Though it seldom cools my temper It never cools my temper Walking through the suburbs though not exactly lovers You're a couple, 'specially when your body's doubled Duplicate, then you wait for the next kuwait
And I'll dance with you in Vienna, I'll be wearing a river's disguise. The hyacinth wild on my shoulder my mouth on the dew of your thighs. And I'll bury my soul in a scrapbook, with the photographs there and the moss. And I'll yield to the flood of your beauty, my cheap violin and my cross. And you'll carry me down on your dancing to the pools that you lift on your wrist -- O my love, O my love Take this waltz, take this waltz, it's yours now. It's all that there is.

Posted - 02/03/2007 : 01:03:16 Thank you Old Man, for bring that one up! I sang that on stage once, forgot all about it. I'll have to find that album for sure. Didn't know it went back to Peter Green, though. Used to hear it on the radio in Cleveland years ago. Cool! |

Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac - Oh Well (part one)
I can't help about the shape I'm in, I can't sing I ain't pretty and my legs are thin, But don't ask me what I think of you, I might not give the answer that you want me to.........Oh well!
Now when I talked to god I knew he'd understand, He said stick by me and I'll be your guiding hand, But don't ask me what I think of you, I might not give the answer that you want me to........Oh well! |

This is the time of life That i am living And i,ll face each day with a smile... (A.L.) + May you never lay your head down Without a hand to hold May you never make your bed out in the cold May you never lose your temper If you get hit in a bar _room fight May you never lose your woman overnight
