Sneaky Pete Kleinow, one of the finest steel guitarists and early co-founder of the Burritos died Saturday at Petaluma. He had Alzheimer's disease and was 72. Boy, he could play that steel! Plans for a memorial service to be at Joshua Tree (I think Gram is buried there) later this month. |

Posted - 19/01/2007 : 00:09:58 Terribly sad news. I remember the first time I heard "Christine's Tune" on the first Burritos album. When that steel guitar broke into fuzztone after the first chorus, I said "now that is something new in the world!" |

Didn't realise he was ill, but if it was Alzheimer's Disease, then I'm sure he's in a far more peaceful place right now. |
