..not sure if some of you know...
Sneaky Pete Kleinow, one of the finest steel guitarists and early co-founder of the Burritos died Saturday at Petaluma. He had Alzheimer's disease and was 72. Boy, he could play that steel! Plans for a memorial service to be at Joshua Tree (I think Gram is buried there) later this month. |

Now that's really upset me. Yet another maker of the soundtracks to my adolescence has gone. I really loved what he did. The best. RIP. |

Extremely sad news. Loved his work with Dillard and Clark too.
Didn't realise he was ill, but if it was Alzheimer's Disease, then I'm sure he's in a far more peaceful place right now. |

yeah...geeze, what a great pedal steel player! Sneaky Pete is one of my main gods of real music of magic. what a gift to music and a loss , too , but i guess he's got more important things to do now. and is really well , now. peace, brother Pete. fly.

Terribly sad news. I remember the first time I heard "Christine's Tune" on the first Burritos album. When that steel guitar broke into fuzztone after the first chorus, I said "now that is something new in the world!" |
