156: Michael Stuart-Ware (Love, The Sons of Adam)

http://www.thetrapset.net/156-michael-stuart-ware-love-the-sons-of-adam/

Although Love never became a household name like some of its contemporaries, the band is certainly one of the most innovative and influential rock bands of all time (and one of Joe’s favorites). Joe speaks to Michael Stuart about the 1960s LA rock scene; why he prefers not to listen to Love’s classic albums; how heroin became a normal part of life; how he attained sobriety; life after Love; and why being a musician is central to his identity, even though he no longer plays professionally.

you can see why he never wanted to have anything to do with Arthur. He feels taken advantage of.

Did him and Tjay really take Arthur to court?

certainly hes owed performance royalties. he did play on da capo and Forever Changes, odd he didn't get a co write on Revelation (or even Snoopy, who played the Bach intro & outro)

Yes, and they won. A small amount it would seem but a moral victory. Or was it Michael and Kenny that took it to court for unpaid back royalties?

Pretty sure Arthur never asked Michael to come round and sit in on the drum kit at Arthur and Baby Lem gigs.

But no one speaks as highly as Michael about Arthur's talent..an honor he says to have been a part of Love, and means it.

nah, Ken didn't sue. Arthur was always trying to get Kenny to get involved in reforming Love, he always turned him down

Noone trusted Arthur with the money

anyone got the Discoveries magazine interview with Kenny?

Thanks, Joe. I forgot. Still love Kenny's bass lines so much. RIP.

Interesting interview thanks for flagging it up. I still can't believe that there isn't a single live recording of Love in the FT period let alone before that. Even though they didn't tour they were very popular locally. Michael mentions a few gigs the original band played post FT and there's still no recording. Does anyone know different?
