I've been midly amused by this Wendy woman's constant lecturing about Arthur Lee, The Love Band etc. She has not a clue about the situation. Yet she blathers on and on,ad nasueam. She falls into the trap of defending Arthur Lee. Oh poor Arthur, whaaat a genuis. Actually, Bryan Mclean wrote & shared vocals with Arthur on Love's most famous song "Alone Again Or", besides great songs like "Softly To Me", "Orange Skies", & "Old Man". This is to take nothing away from Arthur, but when she talks about The Love Band playing old songs as if they were their own, what do you think Arthur did for years with Bryan's songs?. Moreover he ripped off Bryan for royalties for years. For Arthur to split now (when he's made a tremendous comeback) fits the pattern. He wouldn't tour or even do Monterey at the band's peak in '67. Now Ken Forssi is gone, as is Bryan. It's too late for him to make ammends with those guys, Johnny Echols joins, and now Arthur splits. I only hope that Arthur is well, and at some time can once again perform with Johnny & the band. It may be too late. But Arthur somehow is set on self destruct. |

hello there. welcome and it's nice to see something happening on the secret base of the board.
What I want to do is to hear those great songs ... and also to hear arthur - whatever music he's making now. So far I've loved most of the songs he's been associated with whether as writer or singer.
I'm still so glad we had the 3 years of love with arthur lee from 2002 to 2005
Keep on shining |

Well I agree. I went to a benefit to "Free Arthur Lee" in Santa Monica back when he was still in prison, at that time there was little hope that he would ever play again. Yet once he's released he goes through his most prolific period in touring since the 60's. I am sure he will have another day. |
