The Charlatans: " The Amazing Charlatans", comp. of demos. good stuff from one of the San Francisco bands in the '60s. next stop is their cd of the album released in the heyday of psych-rock in the Summer of love.
...what the world needs now... |

Cool album that Bob F. The Charlatans wrote some great stuff.
I'm currently listening to the Rubble Collection Vols 11-20. It's just been reissued much to my delight.
This is the time and this is the time and it is time, time, time, time, time, time, time.....

Have got that on order, currently working my way through Vols 1-10 which arrived this week, also the 5-CD Trash Box (previously issued as Box of Pebbles) which has also been reissued. |

'Suspended Disbelief' by Jimmy Webb and Neil Young's 'Harvest Moon'........music to grow old by! Interestingly, both albums feature Linda Ronstadt on harmony vocals. |

Don't laugh. "If I Fell" by the Beatles. They showed " Hard Day's Night" on cable the other night and, not having heard some of the songs in over a decade I was able to enjoy them fresh. "If I Fell" is, as far as I'm concerned, as beautiful as any pop song ever performed. |

heh heh ..I just popped in the Beatles on the Ed Sullivan show... I can't speak for the UK and German audiences but when the Americans heard "IWTHYH" at that time, (not Welsh but "I Want to Hold Your Hand") it freaked'em all out. The geniuses started on their roll from that great song...... |

"Anniversary" off the album, Pogue Mahone, by The Pogues. It was the perfect song for Valentines Day. There was another one I listened to a lot today by Luka Bloom, "I Am Not at War with Anyone. "http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ujmkUY4relo&feature=related |

I've been listening to The Teardrop Explodes recently, just getting into them and it's good stuff. Will move onto Julian Cope's solo stuff soon.
