two albums from the sixties that were just released on cd in the u.s.john phillips album, john the wolfking of l.a. this is a great cd. the other is kangaroo. group and album name. not as good as the other but still not bad.
John,The Wolf King Of L.A. is indeed a great album. I'll have to go get my copy out from under the bed now. That's where I keep my vinyl collection. (I know, It's shocking, such a good album shouldn't be kept in the dark like that!) Need to get a CD copy.
The Phillips album that I would most like to see out will probably never see the light of day. It is the album of sessions that he did with the Rolling Stones, with them at their raw and mean best. There was talk of a release a few years back, but I think it got stomped on. And then there's the Stills/Hendrix sessions. Steve really wants them out, but I'm not so sure about the folks in Seattle..
Have a biscuit on us, jb - one of those damn nice ones with the excessive calories. And a really good cup of tea to wash it down, OK? Reckon you've earnt it. Cheers, Mike

I have them on a CD compilation of African psych called "World Psychedelic Classics 3: Love's A Real Thing"
An excellent CD if you like that kind of thing. It's got some brilliant examples of soul, funk,, and psychedelic world music.
Nah. A lot of this stuff is obscure. A bit like Nuggets really. But African! :-)
So I wouldn't be surprised if these bands ever recorded a full album, or if they did, they probably haven't got a CD reissue. It's all from the early 70s era.
But certainly, the Classics 3 album is a good starting point.
Cool ill keep an eye out 4it.speakin of Nuggets i went into Tower lookin 4 the World Psychedelic album & came out with the Nuggets album which i've heard so much about but never got around 2 buying.am listenin 2 it now, fantastic!
