Kdion 11. You may not remember or be aware that Buffalo Springfield's Again had been released in the Summer of '67, they were a big deal. Bluebird, Mr Soul, Rock & Roll Woman, how do like those apples?. I love how people try to rewrite history. Nice try though. |

Ive read in The Castle fanzine an interview with Ken Forssi where he says Buffalo Springfield were one of the few groups Love were friends with so that Neil Young was one of the few trusted people in Arthurs sphere is not unlikely |

The people making the forthcoming Love documentary have filmed inside the Castle with Arthur.
Arthur gives a guided tour of the building! |

From what I know, Chris Hall had been following Arthur and company around for a couple of years or so.
It looks like the obvious will be in there which is the whole Baby Lemonade era, and possibly the Greg Cartwright era too if Arthur can manage it.
I just hope we get some in depth looks into the Blue Thumb, and solo album eras to try and shed some light on what kind of stuff Arthur and the other guys were going through and thinking.

Huh ? "Rewrite history" I stand by my original post which you failed to quote. Here it is again for your and everyone else's perusual:
"Yep, I always seriously doubted Neil Young "going to produce" Forever Changes. I mean come on ! In 1967 Neil Young was 22 years old, and was hardly a big star or big name. He'd never "produced" anything at that point and was simply one of 3 guitarists in The Buffalo Springfield, who weren't even as big as Love were at that time in LA!"
Free the truth !
KD: And yes I am very aware of Buffalo Springfield, and once again, Neil Young at that time HAD NOT PRODUCED ANYTHING, and LOVE were a bigger band in LA then them, so why oh why would Arthur Lee or Elektra Records want to bring in a greenie like him to produce an established group's 3rd album ? Makes no sense to me what so ever. Do you really think that that could happen ? Neil Young doesn't think so, as there is absolutely NO MENTION of that in any of his bios. Also, apart from Stephen Still's "For What it's Worth" they had no chart toppers at the time.
I love how people try to rewrite history too, but next time why don't you include my original quote ! Better luck next time !

I wasn't looking for LOVE, but came to you vis a vis a Google search on The Cedars. I used to live in the hills above the Castle and was intrigued enough with the aerial view from our home to eventually meander down to Cedarhurst Circle and see it for myself. The owner at the time was an eccentric cat named Fred Masserick, and he kindly showed me around the place. For some reason I was drawn to the house and visited it several times, actually discussed the possibility buying it, but ol' Fred was extremely attached to the place. I'm living on the coast of Maine now, but recently took my 14 year old daughter back home to L.A. and showed her the house. This additional history is fascinating!
Having said all this, believe it or not the LOVE CD is never far from my vehicle, which is weird, b/c it's before my time, but I Love LOVE. (Here in Maine I work for the architect of visual LOVE, Pop Artist Robert Indiana.) BTW, I'd like to know what happened to Fred. Wow, thanks for the memories.
