Very cool this evening to hear the Zombies "This Could Be Our Year (Took a Long Time To Come)," from "Odessey and Oracle," rolling under the end credits of tonight's episode of "Mad Men." The show's
time line is up to about 1968 or so, which also gave us an earlier scene featuring the Turtles' "Eleanor" on the radio from New York's WNEW AM. I loved the brief story arc from a few seasons ago that had
uber-Madison Avenue Man Don Draper back stage at a Rolling Stones concert (desperately trying to land a business deal with people he really couldn't even remotely relate to, not to mention navigating the back stage female fans (with a clear agenda), who circa '65 or so, were not yet referred to as groupies; just an excitable group of young ladies pretty much willing to do whatever it took to "meet
the band." Poor Don Draper was just so lost in that scene....
