DEVELOPING: The Boston Marathon headquarters has been locked down after two explosions were reported near the finish line, a spokesman told Reuters.
Witnesses reportedly heard two booms near the finish line inside the Fairmount Copley Plaza Hotel that sounded like two claps of thunder.
The Associated Press says there are reports of injuries.

A dear friend & his wife were in the VIP bleachers directly across from the blast, and witnessed it all. They are ok, but so broken hearted. (She (Joan Benoit) won the 1980 Olympic women's marathon and the Boston race twice, so she is very directly involved in such events; a friend & mentor to many runners)
Just so sad here in Maine as we are so closely connected to Boston.

Tough to see. It's very hard as a human being to witness all that. Today my son is on detail in plainclothes in NYC. I told him to keep eyes in the back of his head. We've had some interesting conversations now on bombings and terrorism in general. Eye-opening I must say. Nothing like the son teaching the father about the ways of the world and perhaps where it's going. |

Right, rocker.
Aren't you (and the lucky ones here) grateful to have lived in a more hopeful time, in a more innocent age. The 60's, even with the loss of JFK, RFK, MLK and 'Nam, we were still somehow so much less jaded & so hopefully idealistic...Naive? Maybe...but the MUSIC!
It was The Innocent Age, The Golden Age. Glad to say we lived it.
Todays youth, the news, the internet garbage, the times....has it ever been more jaded? But there is always the hope that the Tea Party madness, the extremists...the materialistic craziness, will cause a similar backlash to this madness with a new peaceful revelation like the 60's had.
Keepin' the faith with the music.

Well lk you've kind of given me an intro on what is going on and has happened to our 'world'. For sure, the 'innocence' is gone. It's become more heightened to me that there are people out there who just want to kill, and destroy lives. You now have bids on your life as you go through a working day or doing enjoyable things. I know this sounds crazy but lately when I have to deal with people lately for services etc I detect a lack of complete patience and some don't do their job. Comes off to me as hey 'I don't care'. It's like WTF and nobody gives a f***, eh? From my view, bombings are probably those going off the deep end with that "I don't care' attitude. They've lost complete touch with human beings living lives. |
