Three works that are absolutley among the best ever made in the whole of the twentieth century of ANY genre:
Songs in the Key Of Life-Stevie Wonder
Kind of Blue-Miles Davis(I've heard the same about
"Witches Brew)
Notorious Byrd Brothers
Has anybody here heard the mind blowing "Moog Raga" by the Byrds that was included as part of the deluxe-cd set "Notorious".How and why wasn't THIS one of the original release? It's a wonderous foray into the possibilities and capability of the Moog Synthesizer that was high cutting edge technology, especially for its times. other than obviously the songwriting Stevie Wonder's many multi-texteral approaches put him in the same creative genius category as Lennon/McCartney/George Martin and Brian Wilson.I read somewhere that Stevie and Sir Paul jammed together in LA back in '72 or '73 during Lennon's much fabled "lost weekend".WOW!Just think about being a fly on those walls!

There was a time when the anticipation for the next Stevie Wonder album was like waiting for the next Beatles album.

Stevie had his CLASSIC PERIOD that encompasses three of the finest LPS ever released.

I. "TALKING BOOK"

II. "INNERVISIONS"

III. "SONGS IN THE KEY OF LIFE"

All three are masterworks of the 20th Century--Innervisions is my favorite-if I had to choose, but all three are in my elite shelf collection.

I would of course place ""REVOLVER" at the top, along with Forever Changes.

...and my favorite album cover (I have the original guitar player Elektra label!)

like this...

And an LP that rarely gets mentioned by the masses though recognized by those that know....Dylan was just happy to carry Neil's guitar case when he was still a kid trying to make it in the Village. Fred Neil was a god to them there.

"BLEECKER & MaCDOUGAL" by Fred Neil

What a voice...what an artist (yes he was an addict which made him a very nasty guy at times, but that's what made him leave the business...the rest of his life he lived at peace saving dolphins; and left a legacy, a masterpiece.

"Triad" is pretty cool too

I can understand why those guys sacked Crosby, giving them a hard time while recording "Goin Back"

Christ thats such a good song

I'm always frightened by the opener (Artificial Energy) as its so bombastic

Thats such a slower contemplative album - songs like "Dolphins Smile", "Gathering of tribes", "Goin Back" (by Carole King!)
really make you wanna SLOW down and meditate on life!
