On the way back from town this afternoon I was moved to buy a copy of Rolling Stone.......probably for the first time since the Watergate era. And the reason why....a fascinating and full length interview with Dylan.

A week ago, whilst on precisely the same journey, I invested in the new edition of Uncut. It contains two full length features on The Byrds. The first is on the present day reflections of McGuinn, Crosby and Hillman on what it was about The Notorious Byrd Brothers that helped to drive the band apart...there are plenty of previously unseen pictures. The other one has twenty different celebrities each choosing their favourite Byrds track. There is also a free CD entitled Younger Than Yesterday....it contains plenty of more recent songs inspired by the masters of folk rock. AND.....as if that was not enough, the editor's page is given over entirely to Gene Clark and especially to his No Other masterpiece. Talk about an early Christmas!
