Tebow DOES have a half decent track record of playing some wonderful games, particularly that overtime touchdown to defeat the Steelers in a playoff game last year. Not much of a gamble when you consider that no-name we drafted in the 6th round,199th pick overall in the 2000 draft.I think he's still somewhere on the roster wearing...No.12 I think......... |

Tebow never really did much...he won what he did in the NFL on the backs of the defense. You can be a running QB in college but you need to be able to pass in the Pros. Tebow can't...his 47% passing percentage is at the bottom. But maybe Coach knows something we don't...
You mean the year before last in the playoffs, when a mediocre Tebow lead Broncos beat some less than mediocre teams... until they met the Pats... and were blown out.
But I'll trust to Belichick...we'll see...but what a great press conference where Coach effectively deflated all the Tebow hype.
...there isn't a better show when Belichick meets the PRESS. They don't know what to do up against his deadpan style.

Regardless of opinions for or against, Timmy T is a winner. I saw him live in high school and college and he has the mojo or whatever it is that seperates the special from the rest. I can't understand why a pro team would'nt tailor their offense around him; look at the 49'ers and Colin Kaepernick (sp?). I think pro team coaches egos are too huge and they won't experiment because they have a pre set notion of how things are supposed to work. Bellichick will probably get something positive out of him.
The other thing about Tebow: why all the media attention? It's not like he's a fame whore like alot of other celebrities. He is a lightning rod for social media, and while I like him, he doesn't merit it. He's right now essentially a backup QB who is religious; hardly the first of these.

I like Tim too, but we'll have to see...Flutie was the best QB, college or Canadian Pro but he just couldn't fit in the NFL...too bad. Love Flutie!

You got it. And love or hate any pro athlete, they are laughing all the way to the bank. Some of these guys make more in a quarter/inning than I do all year.

Halfway through the baseball season and the AL East has not disappointed. Sox, Rays, O's, Yanks all could make the playoffs, most probably 3 of those 4 will. The Rays pitching has finally played up to potential and they are hard charging for first place. Can the Sox hold on? Looking forward to a great finish.

Can't see the Yanks coming back...too many woes. Who would have thought the Sox would have the best record in baseball at the All Star break...NEVER. They were pegged by experts and pundits to have a rebuilding year at best and a VERY slim chance of making it as a wildcard team. And Ortiz is having an all star year that compares to his best of 7 years ago!
The BoSox wheels can always fall off but this is a great ride so far!
The O's...always fall apart it seems--the Rays are always in it, crazy as it seems, the way they develop great players & make a run for it, only to sell them off in the post season.

OK so Nava was safe at home, but I'll take it. Fuld made a great throw regardless. Rays are playing red hot now, and the Sox pitching is holding up more than I thought it would. It's already exciting and July isn't even done yet.

The end of the regular season has come and the Rays will play game 163 against their post season nemesis Texas. They have tottered and teetered all year but still alive. Maybe they can make another post season run and meet up with the Sox in the division series, but a long way from that as of yet.

Not a single sports pundit, and especially nary a Red Sox fan ANYWHERE, picked their Sox to end up in a tie for the best record in baseball, and home field advantage throughout the playoffs (not to be underestimated!).
Most New England fans and sports experts were saying that it would be a rebuilding season and maybe, with little hope, a WIldcard spot...but that was just wishful thinking and not really something we even hoped for..at ALL! We were just happy to be rid of Coach Bobby V and some very entitled divas from the lineup.
Best in the AL...really!!? Oh yeah. 2004 repeat?! We don't even dare to hope... but wouldn't it be nice!

Somehow,LK,I don't think the Sox should exactly necessitate any sort of lucky charm or any of the oft-mentioned pre-game rituals to win it all this year. The big thorn in my side here is that I can't watch the first round of the playoffs starting on Friday 'cause THAT round is on TBS and I just cancelled cable! Now I have to listen on the damn radio like I'm tuning in to the frigen 1939 World Series!Contrary to the great Lou Gehrig I feel like the UNluckiest man alive! |

What did you think about Tito Francona referring to the 2011 Sox collapse by saying that one of the reasons his team got to the post season was that they stayed away from chicken and beer. They seem to be making a really big deal about it on Boston TV news, but I think it's just harmless bull#@*%! |

Thanks LK. Finally took care of the Texas Dubya Rangers after having them end the season in '10 and '11, and it didn't run on until the wee hours of the morning so I got to sleep at a normal hour. On to Cleveland for another do or die game, essentially their third straight. Too much pressure!!
If the Rays are fortunate enough to advance we'll have a 'for fun' bet LK. Something like the loser has to listen to a Brittany Spears CD or something equally awful.

A spectacular season for the Yanks, despite all, they played valiantly. A Jeterless season, the A Rod fiasco, a bunch of substitute players playing above their potential, pitchers failing, and Joe Girardi juggling the whole thing. Mariano and Petite demonstrating their talents on and off the field. They are special, in a way that could only be Yankee lore. The Red Sox remarkable comeback using non all star players playing like all stars. But what is with that Cro Magnon look? Its like my high school team dyeing their hair blonde as a sign of unity.
Go Pirates. |
