Well, perhaps it's not completely new.....I'll leave people to read all about it here:

http://www.katebushnews.com/index.php/new-album-directors-cut/

A new single from the album was released two days ago. It is a new version of Deeper Understanding (a hauntingly beautiful song from 1989's The Sensual World). It was first played on Monday's Victoria Derbyhire show on BBC 5 Live......but to a man and a woman, the guest critics all prefered the original. I must say that I did at first....now I'm not so sure. Anyway....here it is...and so judge for yourself. It definitely needs more than one listen..there is such a lot going on here:

Ah, Kate.....once and future Queen of England

Thanks John. I had read that Kate was working on a new album after all these years, but only rumours.

Time for a listen to your link!

She hasn't lost her voice....I do have trouble with the special effects on her voice, that the likes of Britney Spears uses.

But I will give it some listens....I feel she must have a reason for the effects...the computer is the center...computerized world & electronic relationships....I am getting it.....

Thanks for this, LK. Ever since it was released more than twenty years ago, The Sensual World has been a definite favourite...especially the title track. And on songs like Rocket's Tail, she makes such wonderful use of that Bulgarian female choir. I never quite got into the follow-up release, The Red Shoes....but it is interesting to see that Kate is revisiting themes from both albums for this latest project.

Whilst we're waiting for the new one, try this from Kate's highly acclaimed 2005 double album, Aerial. Amongst many brilliant tracks is How to be invisible.

Is that the wind from the desert song
Or is that the autumn leaf falling
Or is that you.....walking home

We in the UK have been truly blessed this evening. Kate Bush gave her first radio interview in more than five years....to John Wilson of BBC Radio 4's Front Row. This was the lucky fellow who got the only sound interview with her last time... after her Aerial release of 2005. This time, Kate talks of the forthcoming album....and indeed of the one after that. She also looks back over her career from the vantage point of her middle years and remembers her last live performance.... back in 1979!

"Deeper Understanding" is wonderfully textured.Who was the producer here?Bush herself?I kind of like the mysterious lilt in her voice.

Just got the album...I'm getting ready to have a listen.
Have been listening to Kate today, for a "deeper understanding"....all her albums in order--what a talent.

DEEPER UNDERSTANDING is as usual, much deeper than the first listen.
The official video of DEEPER UNDERSTANDING is touching and chilling...

Director's Cut is an album from British singer Kate Bush released in May 2011. It entered the UK charts on 22 May 2011 at number 2, matching the peak positions of the two albums from which it draws its source material, The Sensual World and The Red Shoes. The album consists of eleven reworked and/or entirely re-recorded songs from the aforementioned albums and is Bush's first album release since 2005's Aerial.

Director's Cut is available as a digital album, a standard CD in a case-bound book, a deluxe version, consisting of a box set including Director’s Cut, The Sensual World and the The Red Shoes (re-mastered from digital to analogue), and two-disc vinyl. Director's Cut was recorded using analog equipment. Bush stated in an interview for BBC radio that she never liked the "hard-edged sound" of the digitally recorded The Red Shoes and feels both the new recordings of the songs from this album and the re-mastered The Red Shoes have a "warmer, fuller sound."

Anyone get the Deluxe BOX??

Regarding the entirely new lyrics to the song "The Sensual World", now re-titled "Flower of the Mountain", Bush said this: "Originally when I wrote the song "The Sensual World" I had used text from the end of Ulysses by James Joyce, put to a piece of music I had written. When I asked for permission to use the text I was refused, which was disappointing. I then wrote my own lyrics for the song although I felt that the original idea had been more interesting. Well, I’m not James Joyce am I? When I came to work on this project I thought I would ask for permission again and this time they said yes. It is now re-titled "Flower Of the Mountain" and I am delighted that I have had the chance to fulfill the original concept. For some time I have felt that I wanted to revisit tracks from these two albums and that they could benefit from having new life breathed into them. Lots of work had gone into the two original albums and now these songs have another layer of work woven into their fabric. I think of this as a new album."
