This live version is better than her original studio cut. It has more of a Morrison style poetry reading with musical accompaniment than the DOORS' original.
And we all know of Nico & Jim's famous affair....life long for Nico in some respects.
This version is a live performance with John Cale, Kevin Akers & Brian Eno at the Rainbow Theater in London..June 1, 1974.

Nico has her red hair instead of that early blond look...the way Jim liked his ladies...she kept it red all those years after she and Jim were no longer an item....I believe.

Thanks for this LK. I do have a personal memory of Nico. In 1980-81, towards the end of her career, Nico was resident at a club in Manchester. At that time I was living in a rented flat in the Fallowfield area of the city. And living below was ....Nico's bass player. I do remember that he and his girlfriend were always having violent disagreements until late into the night and they would wake up the whole house. I think I'm right in saying that Nico moved on to Blackpool, Lancashire...and that by the end of her life, she could not even afford to own her own albums. A sad end for one of the true goddesses of rock.
I've just remembered a play was put on up here about her life just a couple of years back:
