Best books: TWO great books on Syd Barrett of the early Pink Floyd: A most irregular head, and Dark Globe

Best cds: Introduction to Syd Barrett (with Rhamadam!)

and of course Robyn Hitchcock's new album Propellor Time, though he didn't compose the music for the albums best track (Ordinary Millionare) - that was by that guy Marr who was in the Smiths!

heres the rather silly video:

i liked that Robyn Hitchcock song Joe, very tasty. Good to see Johnny Marr doing something, a really good guitarist in my opinion.
Have you read the "lOST IN THE WOODS" by Paulo Hewitt about Syd? It,s a great read, i have Crazy Diamond, but it is nowhere near as good.
I didn,t get the last album with Rhamadam on it, i bought "Wouldent you miss me at all? " a few years back. "Bob Dylan Blues" being the track they used to sell it.
Anyway, thanks for the ifo....i,m going to have to play "Ordinary Millionare" again Happy New Year Joe.

Julian Palacois was the author, of course!! how my mind turned him into PAULO HEWITT i don,t know ..lol.
Lost In The Woods by Julian on Syd was soooo good, i kinda thought, well there,s no point in reading another S.B. book. Wich Crazy Diamond proved. It was so good you felt you were by the river in Cambridge Maybe the best Rock n Roll book i,ve read.

I really liked SHAKEY the Neil Young biography as well.
Happy reading Joe.

Nothing so far from Keef in "LIFE" about nicking the idea of a long, monumental blues track in the flavor of "Revelation"-- after hearing it a number of times at Love's club gigs.

During the weeks recording "Aftermath" in LA, the Stones hit the night spots and caught the fever that "Revelation" (John Lee Hooker) caused, thinking..."hmmmmm, this just might work...."---pulling it off on vinyl a bit better than Love did. Though live, no one ever matched Love, the highest paid band at the Whiskey...ten times more $ than any ol' house band!

you should check out the audio book of Life - Keef rids a bit of it, and Johnny Depp's reading it like a pirate!

Got to listen to a bit of Exile - I've never listened to it, actually, aside from Happy, which is wonderful (who cares if you can't understand the words as long as you can hear the chorus:

I need a love to keep me happy
I need a love to keep me happy
Baby won't you keep me
Happy!

Cool news for Spirit fans; just posted on www.dimeadozen.org, the very first Spirit full reunion show, predating the infamous Santa Monica Civic show, from August of 1976, at the San Luis Obispo Vet's
Hall. I was there, and believe me, it was a blindingly amazing show.

Well if youa sk me i think the FA had better pay attention to all that money stuff. It's sure not an endless barrel, eh? I was real surprised by how much team appaarel costs, you know jerseys, jackets etc. How much does the FA thinks fans can afford?
