Hey Folks,
I had a great conversation with Elizabeth Mckee this evening, and as Joe Morris mentioned earlier this month, there is indeed a new collection of selections from Bryan's material available now. The disc is called, "My New Song". It is NOT from his Christian period. It is material that "people haven't heard before, with the exception of Don't Toss Us Away." A great song by the way. It's all the same day. |

Yer right Joe, I checked with Elizabeth, (she turned 85 on 9 Oct.) the disk is complete and packaged and will be available, "...in 2 weeks." She is coordinating the process to get it posted now.
It's all the same day. |

Sounds like all "new" 80's material to me, Joe. But none of the born again stuff....

Hey Joe, It seems that any of Bryan's recordings which contributed to the LOVE songs, are either not extant, or are no longer in the possession of Bryan's mom. He left behind a great deal of home recordings, but mostly of original material it seems.

maybe Elektra will turn up something someday, or pre-Elektra recordings will be unearthed
I'm sure there are new tapes being discovered all the time
perhaps a private collector has a live Love show somewhere? Look at all the Nick Drake thats come out since his death (I guess the late Scott Appell was the source on those bootlegs, as he had a reel to reel)
it'd be nice for a Whisky soundboard source to pop up on eBay one of these days! |

Anyway, the correct information is: the album is a "mixed bag of pop, rock and folk, and it was recorded in '92 and '93."

It is good, that Bryan has such steadfast friends, that still look out for him; I can appreciate that. I was sharing a conversation which I believed you all would be interested in, and I read to Mrs. Mckee what I would post before I posted it. I used "wierd," in the context as being funny, as Elizabeth giggled when she said it. Anyway, the correct information is: the album is a "mixed bag of pop, rock and folk, and it was recorded in '92 and '93." I am not a spokesman for anyone, just a music lover.

Weirdly cool, to quote the Firesign theatre (circa 2000's Give me authority or give me death)
"O, sandwich maker from Bob!" He pronounced. He paused and furrowed his brow with pious contemplation. "Life will be a very great deal less weird without you!" Arthur was stunned. "Do you know," he said "I think that's the nicest thing anybody's ever said to me."

It sounds like "classic" Bryan by the description...his was always a mixed bag of rock, folk, pop and show tunes.
Can't wait! When is the release date!? BTW, I would call "ifyoubelievein" his masterpiece, not Intra Muros ......as it was assembled by Bryan. Intra has its moments, but.....
